KarnatakaCabinet –Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is scheduled to make a brief visit to Mysuru from New Delhi on Tuesday to attend a private event before returning to the national capital, where senior Congress leaders are expected to hold an important meeting that could shape the future of the Karnataka cabinet. His travel plan comes at a time when speculation over a possible cabinet expansion and ministerial reshuffle continues to dominate political discussions in the state.
Brief Mysuru Visit Before Returning to Delhi
According to his official schedule, Siddaramaiah will arrive in Mysuru around noon on a special flight from Delhi. After participating in a private programme, he is expected to leave the city at approximately 3:00 PM and fly back to Delhi on another special flight. Before heading to Mysuru, Siddaramaiah has been staying at Karnataka Bhavan in the national capital along with several senior party leaders involved in ongoing discussions.
Congress Leadership Expected to Review Cabinet Plans
The meeting of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) in Delhi is expected to focus on the long-pending issue of expanding the Karnataka cabinet. Senior party functionaries and central observers are likely to take part in the deliberations, with discussions expected to include possible ministerial appointments and adjustments within the existing council of ministers.
The Congress leadership has been reviewing ways to strengthen its government in Karnataka, and the latest round of consultations is seen as an important step before any formal announcement is made. However, party leaders have so far refrained from indicating whether a final decision will emerge immediately after the meeting.
Parameshwara Says Final Authority Lies With High Command
Meanwhile, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara dismissed speculation over an imminent cabinet reshuffle, stressing that any decision regarding expansion of the state ministry rests entirely with the Congress high command.
Speaking to journalists in Bengaluru before leaving for Delhi, Parameshwara said that Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President, and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah were already in the national capital to discuss the matter with the party’s central leadership.
He stated that consultations with the high command would determine the next course of action and clarified that cabinet expansion would proceed only after the party leadership grants its approval. According to him, the outcome of these discussions would become clear once the meetings in Delhi conclude.
Meeting With Karnataka MPs Also Scheduled
Apart from the cabinet-related discussions, Parameshwara said Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has also called a meeting of Congress Members of Parliament from Karnataka, including both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha representatives, in Delhi.
The interaction is expected to provide an opportunity for coordination between the state leadership and the party’s parliamentary members on political and administrative priorities. Although the cabinet issue remains the primary focus, the gathering is also likely to cover broader organisational matters concerning the party’s strategy in Karnataka.

The movement of senior Karnataka Congress leaders between Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Delhi has drawn considerable political attention as expectations continue over possible changes in the state government.
