Investigation –  Delhi Police have solved the murder of a 21-year-old man in central Delhi’s Anand Parbat area by arresting a 19-year-old suspect and taking a juvenile into custody. Investigators said the crime was linked to a long-standing dispute between the victim and the accused. Following the incident, police registered a case under applicable provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and began an extensive search for those involved.

Arrests Made After Intelligence Input

According to officials, the main accused, Himanshu Tiwari, who lives in the Baljit Nagar locality of Patel Nagar, was traced after police received information about his planned visit to a shopping complex in Rajouri Garden. Investigators learned that he was expected to meet an acquaintance and collect money. Acting on the tip-off, a police team established surveillance near the location and detained Tiwari. A juvenile suspected of participating in the crime was also apprehended during the operation.

Suspects Allegedly Fled Delhi After Crime

Police said the accused left Delhi shortly after the killing in an attempt to avoid arrest. During this period, they reportedly stayed in different places across Rajasthan and frequently changed locations to remain out of reach of law enforcement agencies. Investigators tracked their movements over several days and learned that they had recently returned to the national capital. Their return ultimately led to the successful operation that resulted in their capture.

Investigation Points to Previous Enmity

During questioning, Tiwari allegedly admitted that he and his associates targeted Sagar because of an earlier conflict. Investigators said the attack was not random but stemmed from an ongoing rivalry between the groups. Police believe the victim was repeatedly stabbed before the accused fled the scene and later escaped from Delhi.

Officials stated that evidence collected during the investigation, along with statements recorded from those connected to the case, helped establish the sequence of events leading up to the crime. Authorities continue to examine additional details to determine whether any other individuals played a role in the incident.

Legal Action Underway

Police said Tiwari had received school-level education and was allegedly influenced by negative associations at a relatively young age. After completing the necessary legal procedures, he was formally arrested. Since one of the accused is a minor, authorities initiated separate proceedings under the Juvenile Justice Act, in accordance with legal requirements governing cases involving juveniles.

Crime Branch Takes Charge of Amar Colony Shooting Case

In a separate development, the Delhi Police Crime Branch has assumed responsibility for investigating the shooting of a 17-year-old boy, Sai Kumar, at a food outlet in Amar Colony. Officials said a 16-year-old suspected shooter had earlier been detained and was allegedly found carrying an automatic pistol. Investigators have since identified two additional suspects believed to be connected to the case.

Sai Kumar remains admitted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, where doctors continue to monitor his condition. Police said the teenager is in critical condition, with a bullet still lodged in his brain. The transfer of the investigation to the Crime Branch is expected to bring additional resources and specialized expertise to the case as officers work to establish the motive and identify everyone involved.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to pursuing both investigations thoroughly and ensuring that all individuals found responsible are brought before the law.
