FitnessCrime – A 26-year-old gym owner was shot dead by two unidentified attackers during an outdoor fitness session in Haryana’s Hansi on Thursday morning, according to police officials. The incident occurred near Fawara Chowk at around 5:30 am while the trainer was leading a workout program attended by a small group of participants.
Attack Takes Place During Public Exercise Session
The victim, identified as Kapil, was originally from a village in Jind district and operated a fitness centre in Hansi. Police said he was supervising an exercise routine involving six to seven people when two men arrived on a motorcycle. One of the suspects reportedly got off the vehicle and opened fire at close range.
Witnesses at the scene were shocked by the sudden attack. The assailants fled immediately after carrying out the shooting, leaving those present struggling to respond to the incident.
CCTV Footage Captures Sequence of Events
Investigators have recovered CCTV footage that recorded the attack. The video reportedly shows Kapil guiding participants through a step-up exercise on a staircase near closed shops in the area. The group was facing away from the road when the motorcycle carrying the suspects approached.
According to police, the rider was wearing a helmet, while the pillion passenger had covered his face with a cloth and was also seen wearing a white cap. The footage shows the passenger stepping off the motorcycle and firing multiple rounds at the fitness trainer.
Kapil attempted to turn around after the first shots were fired but collapsed after being struck several times. The attackers then escaped from the location on the same motorcycle.
Police Launch Investigation
Deputy Superintendent of Police Vinod Shankar said authorities received information about the shooting shortly after it occurred. Preliminary findings indicate that around ten rounds were fired during the attack.
Police teams have begun examining all available evidence, including CCTV recordings and witness statements, to identify those responsible. Officials said efforts are underway to trace the suspects and determine the circumstances that led to the crime.
Recent Business Relocation Under Review
Investigators revealed that Kapil had recently moved his fitness centre to a new location within the same locality. Police are examining various aspects of his personal and professional life as part of the investigation.
Officials have not yet established a clear motive behind the killing. They stated that all possible angles are being explored and no conclusions have been reached at this stage.
Victim Declared Dead at Hospital
After the shooting, Kapil was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival. The incident has left residents and members of the local fitness community deeply disturbed.
Police also confirmed that the victim’s mother informed investigators that Kapil had entered into a court marriage nearly three years ago. Authorities are gathering additional information as part of the ongoing inquiry.
The investigation remains active, and law enforcement agencies continue their efforts to locate and arrest the attackers responsible for the fatal shooting.
