Before arriving in the national capital, the Vietnamese President visited Bodh Gaya in Bihar on Tuesday. Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary welcomed him during the visit. President To Lam also offered prayers at the Mahabodhi Temple, one of Buddhism’s most revered sites and an important symbol of shared cultural heritage between India and Vietnam.

Later in the evening, the Vietnamese delegation arrived in New Delhi, where Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai received the President at the airport.
