Delhi Police – Four Punjab Men Held in Alleged Delhi-NCR Terror Plot
Delhi Police – Delhi Police has arrested four men from Punjab in connection with an alleged plot to carry out terror-related activity in the Delhi-NCR region. Investigators said the suspects were believed to be acting on instructions from Pakistan-based handler Shahzad Bhatti and members of his network. Police said the arrests followed intelligence inputs about a possible plan involving recruits from Punjab.

Police identify four accused from Punjab
The four accused have been identified as Shubdeep Singh, also known as Vishal, 23; Gurjant Singh, also known as Rishi, 22; Sajan Singh, also known as Honey, 28; and Gaganpreet, 24. All are residents of Punjab, according to officials.
Police said the group allegedly used international phone numbers supplied by handlers based in Pakistan. Investigators believe the arrangement was intended to make communication more difficult to trace. The case is being handled by the Special Cell of Delhi Police.
Arms, ammunition and phones recovered
During the operation, police recovered two pistols, nine live cartridges and five mobile phones from the accused. Officials said the seized phones are being examined for messages, contacts and other digital material that may help investigators understand the alleged network.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Praveen Kumar Tripathi said the first arrest was made in Amritsar after police carried out raids and questioned several people in Delhi and Punjab. Shubdeep was arrested there, and police recovered a semi-automatic pistol, five live cartridges and two mobile phones from him.
Police alleged that Shubdeep had been in touch with people linked to the Bhatti network. During questioning, he reportedly told investigators that arms and narcotics consignments had been delivered through drones operating across the India-Pakistan border.
Further arrests followed investigation
The inquiry later led officers to Gurjant and Sajan, who were arrested in Punjab. Police said a Zigana pistol, four live cartridges and two mobile phones were recovered from the pair.
Officials alleged that Gurjant had been communicating with ISI-linked handlers through foreign phone numbers. Police also claimed that Gurjant and his cousin Sajan were involved in receiving weapons and narcotics dropped by drones from across the border.
According to police records cited by officials, Sajan had previously been arrested by Punjab Police in a case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Shubdeep was also earlier arrested in a separate NDPS case, police said.
Delhi arrest linked to reconnaissance claims
Gaganpreet was arrested in Delhi on June 24, police said. A mobile phone containing material described by investigators as incriminating was recovered from him.
Police alleged that Gaganpreet had been assigned to survey religious sites, police stations and police pickets in Delhi. Officials said he was asked to record videos of these locations and send them to handlers. Investigators also alleged that he had been directed to carry out a firing incident at a police-related location.
The police have not disclosed whether any specific target, date or location had been finalised. Officials said the investigation remains ongoing and further examination of digital evidence, financial links and cross-border communication records is underway.
Investigation continues across Delhi and Punjab
Delhi Police said the arrests were the result of coordinated action based on intelligence inputs and follow-up inquiries in multiple locations. The force is continuing to examine whether more people were connected to the alleged operation or had knowledge of the activities under investigation.
Authorities have urged the public not to rely on unverified claims about the case while the inquiry is in progress. The accused will face legal proceedings in accordance with the evidence collected during the investigation.
