Delhi explosion case: Dr. Muzammil, a terror suspect, has a new hiding place close to Faridabad

Delhi explosion case: Investigators investigating the Delhi explosion case have discovered another hideaway in the Faridabad area connected to suspected terrorist Dr. Muzammil. Muzammil, a member of the Faridabad terror module, also leased a home in Khori Jamalpur hamlet, which is close to Faridabad, Haryana, according to case documents. He obtained this residence on rent from the old sarpanch of Khori Jamalpur, describing himself as a Kashmiri fruit seller to legitimize his presence and activities in the region.

According to officials, the previous sarpanch instantly recognized Muzammil when the National probe Agency (NIA) arrived in the hamlet with him during the probe, verifying that he had in fact leased the property before under that false pretense.

Several trips and a local network
Investigators have learned from residents and witnesses that Muzammil often brought his buddy Shine Saeed with him when he visited the Khori Jamalpur residence. The assumption that the site was not being utilized for legitimate business purposes but rather as a safe house, meeting place, or logistics base linked to the larger terror plan has been reinforced by these frequent visits.

The pattern of safe houses associated with Muzammil indicates that he favored renting properties in semi-rural areas near Faridabad and Mewat, away from prying eyes but yet near important thoroughfares and establishments, like as Al-Falah University.

Undiscovered explosives close to Al-Falah University
Before explosives were eventually relocated and stored in Fatehpur Taga hamlet, Muzammil had concealed the same quantity for roughly 12 days in a chamber erected in fields adjacent to Al-Falah University. The explosives were temporarily stored in the chamber, which was situated on farmland close to the school. Investigators think that by using this staging technique, the accused was able to shift and hide items gradually without attracting notice right away.

Instead of depending only on couriers, Muzammil is said to have personally driven his automobile carrying the explosives to this chamber in the fields. This also demonstrates the proximity of the operational logistics to the institution with which he and the other defendants were affiliated.

Local assistance with explosives storage
According to the investigation, Muzammil received assistance from an Imam named Ishtiaq, who has since been taken into custody, in keeping the explosives in the chamber constructed in the fields. Before it was moved to Fatehpur Taga, Ishtiaq helped to place and secure the explosive material there, according to court documents. On the ground, his work is seen as vital assistance, providing Muzammil with access to reliable locations and local infrastructure.

As part of the larger conspiracy, investigators are looking into whether this help was restricted to storage or included handling, packaging, or further transportation of the material.

Findings and recommendations from a former sarpanch
Former Khori Jamalpur sarpanch Jumma informed NIA officials during interrogation that he had previously seen Muzammil and another suspect, Umar, at the hospital on the campus of Al-Falah University. He said that after making the first contact there, Muzammil subsequently contacted him about renting a property in the area.

Investigators are assembling a local network of hiding places and support points around Faridabad that allegedly allowed the terror module to function, store explosives, and transport materials prior to the Delhi explosion thanks to this connection between the campus hospital, the village house, and the field room close to Al-Falah University.
