DefenceAcademy – Rajnath Singh to Oversee Air Force Graduation Ceremony in Hyderabad
DefenceAcademy – Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to attend the Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) of the 217th Course at the Air Force Academy in Dundigal, Hyderabad, on Saturday. The ceremony will mark the successful completion of pre-commissioning training for flight cadets from multiple branches of the Indian Armed Forces and allied services.

Defence Minister to Review Prestigious Passing-Out Parade
According to the Ministry of Defence, Rajnath Singh will serve as the Reviewing Officer during the parade, a significant milestone in the careers of newly trained cadets. The event represents the culmination of months of rigorous military and professional training undertaken by the graduating personnel.
During the ceremony, the Defence Minister will award the President’s Commission to eligible trainees, formally inducting them into commissioned service. The occasion will also include the presentation of Wings and Brevets, recognizing the successful completion of specialized training programs by flight cadets of the Indian Air Force, along with officers and trainees from the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Historic Milestone for Women Cadets
A notable highlight of this year’s graduation parade will be the commissioning of the first group of women cadets who began their military journey through the National Defence Academy in Pune. After graduating from the academy on May 30, 2025, they proceeded to the Air Force Academy for branch-specific instruction and are now set to enter active service.
Their participation marks an important chapter in the ongoing expansion of opportunities for women within India’s armed forces and reflects the changing landscape of military leadership and training.
Recognition for Outstanding Performance
The event will also honor cadets who achieved the highest standards during training. Rajnath Singh is expected to present the President’s Plaque to the top-performing flight cadets across various categories, including the Flying Branch, Navigation Stream, and Ground Duty Branches.
These awards are considered among the most prestigious recognitions for trainees, rewarding excellence in academics, flying skills, leadership qualities, and overall performance throughout the course.
Aerial Demonstrations to Showcase Air Force Capabilities
Beyond the formal commissioning ceremony, spectators will witness a series of military displays highlighting the professionalism and operational capabilities of the Indian Air Force. The program will begin with demonstrations by the Akash Ganga skydiving team and the Air Warrior Drill Team, both known for their precision and discipline.
The parade will also feature a fly-past led by Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh. Multiple trainer aircraft are expected to participate, including the Pilatus PC-7 MkII, Hawk, Kiran, and Chetak platforms, demonstrating the progression of pilot training within the force.
Advanced Aircraft and Aerobatic Teams to Perform
Several crowd-favorite aerial performances are expected to add excitement to the event. The Su-30 MKI fighter aircraft will showcase its maneuvering capabilities, while the Sarang helicopter display team will present coordinated aerial formations.
In addition, the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team is set to perform its signature display, featuring synchronized flying and precision aerobatics. These demonstrations are designed to highlight the skill, coordination, and operational readiness of Indian Air Force personnel.
The Combined Graduation Parade remains one of the most important annual events at the Air Force Academy, symbolizing the transition of cadets into commissioned officers and celebrating the next generation of military leaders who will serve the nation.
