CyberFraud – Fake Spiritual Healers Arrested for Online Scam Network
CyberFraud – Delhi Police has uncovered an alleged cyber fraud operation in which two young men reportedly posed as spiritual healers online and cheated thousands of people across the country by offering fake solutions for personal and family-related problems.

Delhi Police on Friday said two men accused of operating an organised online fraud racket were arrested after an investigation into complaints linked to fake spiritual guidance services on social media platforms. According to officials, the suspects allegedly used fabricated female identities to attract victims and collect money through deceptive promises of rituals and tantric remedies.
Accused Tracked to Mohali Apartment
The accused were identified as 21-year-old Ganesh and Mandeep Singh, both residents of Sri Ganganagar district in Rajasthan. Police said Ganesh is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree through distance learning, while Mandeep Singh has completed an Industrial Training Institute course in diesel engine mechanics and is also a graduate.
Investigators traced the operation to a rented apartment in Kharar, Mohali, where the two were allegedly managing the online network. Acting on technical evidence and surveillance inputs, police conducted a raid at the location and arrested both suspects.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohit Rajbir Singh stated that the arrests were made following complaints from individuals who claimed they had been deceived through online spiritual consultation services.
Social Media Profiles Used to Target Victims
According to police officials, the accused allegedly created several fake profiles on Instagram and Facebook using female identities. These accounts were reportedly designed to appear trustworthy and active, featuring fabricated testimonials and success stories linked to love issues, marriage disputes, and family conflicts.
Authorities said the duo specifically targeted emotionally vulnerable individuals seeking personal advice or spiritual assistance online. Victims who responded to the posts were allegedly directed to WhatsApp numbers operated by the accused.
Police claimed the suspects then demanded money in exchange for rituals, remedies, or so-called spiritual solutions. Investigators believe the operation was carried out in a systematic manner and may have affected a large number of people across different states.
Technical Investigation Helped Crack the Case
During the inquiry, Delhi Police carried out a detailed examination of digital records connected to the case. Officials analysed WhatsApp accounts, Instagram activity, IP addresses, login details, and other online traces linked to the accused.
Investigators also reviewed financial transaction records to track the flow of money received from victims. Police said the digital evidence played a crucial role in identifying the suspects and locating their operating base in Punjab.
Preliminary findings suggest that more than 2,000 individuals from various parts of India had interacted with the accused through their online platforms.
Police Warn Against Online Spiritual Fraud
Following the arrests, officials advised the public to remain cautious while interacting with unknown accounts offering spiritual or personal problem-solving services online. Cybercrime investigators warned that fraudsters often exploit emotional distress and use fake identities to gain the trust of victims.
Authorities also encouraged people to verify online profiles before sharing personal information or sending money through digital platforms. Police said awareness remains one of the strongest tools in preventing cyber fraud cases linked to social media scams.
The investigation is ongoing, and officials are examining whether more individuals may have been connected to the alleged racket.
