CrimeUpdate – Double Murder Investigation Intensifies in South-East Delhi
CrimeUpdate – A shocking case of double murder has emerged from the Govindpuri locality in south-east Delhi, where a woman and her teenage son were found dead inside their residence late Wednesday night. Police officials said the attackers also escaped with cash and jewellery worth several lakh rupees, raising suspicions of a planned robbery linked to the killings.

Bodies Discovered Inside Family Home
The victims were identified as 40-year-old Sharda and her 14-year-old son Khushal. According to investigators, both suffered multiple stab injuries and were discovered in the kitchen area of their home. The incident reportedly came to light after Sharda’s husband returned from work during the early hours of Thursday and found the two lying motionless in a pool of blood.
Police said the family had been living in the Govindpuri area for nearly 15 years after relocating from Badaun district in Uttar Pradesh. The husband earns a living by operating a vegetable stall in a local weekly market.
Robbery Suspected Behind the Attack
Initial findings indicate that the accused fled the scene with approximately Rs 10 to 12 lakh in cash along with gold and silver ornaments kept inside the house. Officials believe the crime may have been carried out with prior knowledge of valuables present at the residence.
Authorities received information about the incident around 12:30 a.m. Senior police personnel and forensic teams soon reached the location to collect evidence and begin the investigation process.
The bodies were later shifted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre for postmortem examination. Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV recordings from nearby streets and residential buildings in an effort to identify the suspect and reconstruct the sequence of events.
Police Continue Detailed Probe
Delhi Police stated that several angles are being examined, including robbery, personal rivalry, and possible local involvement. Officers have also begun questioning individuals familiar with the family and residents from the surrounding neighbourhood.
Security has been increased in the area following the incident, while local residents expressed concern over rising cases of violent crime in residential colonies.
Officials said further details are expected once forensic findings and technical evidence are fully analysed.
Separate Stabbing Incident Reported in Shakurpur
In another violent case reported earlier this week, police responded to a PCR call regarding a stabbing incident in JJ Colony, Shakurpur, under the Subhash Place police station area.
Upon arrival, officers found two injured men, identified as Deepak, 34, and Rajesh, 53, who were related as nephew and uncle. Police said Deepak was immediately taken to Bhagwan Mahabir Hospital for treatment after suffering injuries to his stomach.
Rajesh, however, was discovered unconscious at the scene. Doctors later declared him brought dead after he was transported to the hospital.
Property Dispute Believed to Be Trigger
According to preliminary police findings, the two men had reportedly been involved in a long-running disagreement related to joint family property. Investigators believe the argument escalated violently during a confrontation at the residence.
Family members informed police that Rajesh allegedly attacked Deepak with a knife during the dispute. During the struggle that followed, Rajesh reportedly lost balance, fell down a staircase, and sustained fatal injuries.
Police officials confirmed that both incidents remain under active investigation and additional details will be released after completion of forensic and witness examination procedures.
