Crime – Police have launched a detailed investigation after a man allegedly killed six people, including his wife, children and members of another family, in a shocking incident reported from Ranga Reddy district early on Saturday.
Multiple Family Members Among Victims
A tragic incident unfolded in Telangana’s Ranga Reddy district when six people lost their lives in a series of fatal knife attacks allegedly carried out by a 35-year-old man identified as Rajkumar. According to police, the victims included his wife, their two young children, as well as a minor girl, her mother and grandmother. The incident took place in Daivalaguda village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Shabad Police Station.
Police Suspect Link to Earlier POCSO Case
Investigators believe the killings may be connected to a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) case that had previously been registered against the accused. Officials said Rajkumar had been arrested after a complaint was filed by the minor girl’s mother on May 16. He was later granted bail and had recently returned home before the alleged attack occurred.
Police are examining whether the earlier criminal case played a direct role in motivating the incident. However, they have clarified that the investigation is ongoing and that the exact sequence of events and motive will be confirmed only after all evidence is reviewed.
Alleged Attack Took Place Before Dawn
According to preliminary findings, Rajkumar allegedly entered the residence of the minor victim during the early hours of Saturday and attacked the occupants with a knife. Authorities said the minor girl, her mother and grandmother sustained fatal injuries during the assault.
Police further stated that the accused had already attacked his own wife and two children before targeting the second household. The incident has left the local community in shock due to the number of lives lost within a short span of time.
Phone Call Alerted Relatives
Investigators said the accused later contacted members of his family by phone and allegedly informed them that both families had been killed. During the conversation, he also reportedly expressed his intention to end his own life.
After receiving the call, relatives immediately alerted authorities. His parents subsequently approached the local police station and filed a complaint, prompting officers to launch an immediate response.
Accused Taken Into Custody
Telangana Police confirmed that Rajkumar has been taken into custody. Officers are questioning him while collecting forensic evidence and witness statements to establish the complete timeline of the incident.
