Crime Investigation – Teen Found Dead After Entering Forest in South Delhi

Crime Investigation –  A 13-year-old boy was found dead in South Delhi’s Bhati Mines area after reportedly going into a nearby forest with a group of people to bury a dog. Police suspect the child was strangled, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

Boy Went Missing After Leaving Home

According to police officials, the teenager, who studied in Class 9, had stepped out on Tuesday evening to play with friends in his neighborhood. When he failed to return home late at night, worried family members began searching for him and later approached the police to file a missing complaint.

Police teams soon launched a search operation in the surrounding area. During the search on Wednesday, officers discovered the boy’s body inside a forested stretch near Bhati Mines in South Delhi.

Preliminary Probe Points to Strangulation

Investigators said initial findings indicate that the child may have been strangled to death. However, officials added that the complete sequence of events is still being examined. Police are also trying to establish the motive behind the killing and identify everyone who was present with the victim before his death.

Sources familiar with the investigation said two juveniles have been questioned in connection with the case. Authorities have not yet shared additional details as inquiries are still ongoing.

A senior police officer stated that forensic and technical evidence are also being reviewed as part of the investigation process.

Family Demands Justice

Relatives of the victim alleged that the boy had accompanied a few people from the locality to the forest area to help bury a dog. They said the child was playing near his home before leaving for the jungle.

Speaking to reporters, the victim’s aunt said the boy had gone toward the forest area around 3 pm on Tuesday but did not return by night. She explained that the family searched extensively before informing police and filing a missing report.

She added that the family later received information from the police regarding the boy’s death. The grieving relatives maintained that they had no known dispute or rivalry with anyone and demanded strict action against those responsible.

Protest Erupts Near Police Post

Following the recovery of the body, angry residents and family members gathered outside the Sanjay Colony police post. Protesters briefly blocked a nearby road while demanding immediate arrests and a thorough investigation into the incident.

Police personnel later intervened and managed to calm the crowd. Officials assured the family that the matter would be investigated seriously and that appropriate legal action would be taken based on evidence collected during the probe.

Investigation Continues

The case has raised concern among residents of the area, especially over the safety of children and teenagers. Police teams continue to question people linked to the incident while awaiting further forensic findings.

Authorities have not ruled out any angle at this stage and said more information will emerge after detailed questioning and examination of evidence.
