Crime – Gunshots Fired at East Delhi Residence, No Injuries Reported
Crime – A late-night shooting outside a residential property in East Delhi has prompted an active police investigation, though no injuries were reported in the incident. Authorities confirmed that unidentified individuals opened fire at a house in the Farsh Bazar locality during the early hours of Wednesday.
Incident Reported Through PCR Call
According to police officials, a call was received at the Farsh Bazar police station around 1:30 am regarding gunfire near the Old Tejab Mill area. A patrol team was immediately dispatched to the location. By the time officers reached the scene, the suspects had already fled.
Initial findings suggest that five individuals were involved. Two of them were riding a motorcycle, while the remaining three were on a scooter. The group reportedly stopped outside the residence of a 29-year-old man identified as Talib. Investigators said that two members of the group allegedly pulled out firearms and discharged one round each toward the entrance gate of the house before speeding away.
CCTV Footage Circulates Online
Video clips captured by nearby surveillance cameras later surfaced on social media platforms. The footage appears to show individuals on a motorcycle and a scooter pausing briefly in front of the house and firing shots at the main gate. The visuals have since been shared widely, drawing attention to concerns about public safety in the area.
Police have taken possession of the CCTV recordings as part of the investigation. Officials are examining the footage to identify the suspects and trace their route before and after the incident.
Evidence Collected from the Spot
During a detailed inspection of the site, officers recovered two empty cartridges from outside the property. Forensic teams have been informed, and the cartridges are expected to undergo further examination to determine the type of weapon used.
Authorities confirmed that no one inside the house was harmed during the firing. There were no reports of injuries to residents or bystanders at the time of the incident. The house sustained minor damage to its entrance gate.
Motive Yet to Be Determined
Police officials stated that the motive behind the shooting remains unclear. Investigators are questioning local residents and gathering background information to understand whether the incident was linked to a personal dispute, intimidation attempt, or another reason.
Security in the surrounding area has been heightened, with additional patrols deployed as a precautionary measure. Officers are also reviewing nearby surveillance systems to collect more evidence that could help identify the suspects.
