Court – High Court Allows Devineni Avinash to Visit United States
Court – The High Court has permitted YSR Congress Party leader Devineni Avinash to travel to the United States, overturning a Guntur court order that had denied his request. The court also directed that his passport be released to enable the visit, subject to conditions set by the judiciary.

High Court Sets Aside Guntur Court Decision
Justice Yadavalli Lakshmana Rao passed the order on Thursday while hearing Avinash’s petition against the earlier ruling of the Guntur court. The lower court had rejected his request for permission to travel abroad and declined to hand back the passport he had deposited as part of the legal process.
The High Court found grounds to allow the proposed trip and set aside the June 16 order issued by the Guntur court. Avinash has been granted permission to remain in the United States until July 15.
Passport Was Submitted During Case Proceedings
Avinash is among the accused in the case linked to the alleged attack on the Telugu Desam Party office. His passport had been placed before the court in line with directions issued during the proceedings.
Court records indicate that the police investigation in the matter has been completed and a chargesheet has already been filed. With the investigation concluded, Avinash sought temporary release of his passport to travel overseas.
Family Function Cited in Travel Request
In his application before the Guntur court, Avinash said he intended to visit the United States for a family event at his cousin’s home. He requested permission to travel and asked for the return of his passport for the duration of the trip.
The Guntur court did not accept the request and dismissed the application on June 16. Following that decision, Avinash approached the High Court seeking relief.
During the hearing, the High Court considered submissions from both sides before allowing the petition. The order enables Avinash to undertake the foreign visit while keeping him bound by specific reporting and travel requirements.
Conditions Attached to Foreign Travel Permission
The High Court directed Avinash to return to India and appear before either the investigating officer or the trial court on July 13. The instruction is intended to ensure his continued participation in the case proceedings after the overseas visit.
Before leaving India, Avinash must also provide his full travel itinerary to the Station House Officer concerned and to the lower court. The passport is to be returned only for the approved travel period and in accordance with the conditions laid down by the High Court.
The order offers temporary travel relief to Avinash while the criminal case connected to the alleged TDP office attack continues through the judicial process. The case will proceed separately in accordance with the chargesheet and future directions of the trial court.
