Accident – Three Killed After Car Crashes Into Parked Truck on Jalandhar Bypass
Accident – Three people lost their lives after a Swift car crashed into a stationary loaded Canter truck on the Jalandhar-Maksudan Bypass Highway early Saturday morning. Police said the collision took place at around 6:30 am, leaving all three occupants of the car dead at the scene.
Police Receive Information About Crash
According to Division 1 police, information about the accident was received at approximately 6:30 am. Station House Officer Sub-Inspector Rakesh Kumar said officers reached the location after being alerted about the collision.
The Swift was carrying three people when it struck the truck from behind. Police said the impact was severe and caused extensive damage to the car. All three occupants died at the spot.
Bodies Sent for Identification
Following the crash, the bodies were removed from the vehicle and taken to the Civil Hospital for further proceedings. Police are working to establish the identities of the deceased and inform their families.
Investigators are also checking the registration details of the car as part of the identification process. The vehicle’s registration has reportedly been traced to the Lamme village area, and police are attempting to contact people at the address linked to the registration.
Truck Driver Leaves Accident Site
Police said the Canter truck was loaded and had been parked on the road when the Swift collided with it. The driver of the truck was not present at the scene when officers began their investigation.
Authorities are now attempting to trace the driver and gather information about the circumstances that led to the truck being parked at the location.
The truck carries the marking ‘KTC’ and is registered in Haryana. Police are also trying to establish contact with the transport company associated with the vehicle to obtain further details.
Traffic Restored After Vehicles Removed
The damaged Swift was subsequently moved to the side of the road, allowing traffic movement to return to normal. Police said the immediate obstruction caused by the crash has been cleared.
Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the collision, including the position of the parked truck and the circumstances in which the car struck it from behind.

Sub-Inspector Rakesh Kumar said the investigation is continuing and that the necessary legal procedures are being followed. Police are working on both identifying the victims and locating the truck driver.
