Politics – Leaders from several opposition parties assembled in New Delhi on Monday for an important meeting of the INDIA alliance, where they reached a consensus on multiple political and public policy issues. Decision to Approach the Chief Justice

Following the meeting, senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge informed reporters that the alliance had agreed to send a formal communication to the Chief Justice of India. According to him, the letter will raise concerns regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise and allegations related to electoral irregularities. He stated that alliance members believe these matters require attention at the highest judicial level and that the letter will be submitted shortly.

The press briefing was attended by several prominent opposition figures, including Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, Mamata Banerjee, and other senior leaders representing different parties within the alliance.

Demand for Education Minister’s Resignation

Another major issue discussed during the meeting was the controversy surrounding the NEET and CBSE examinations. The opposition parties unanimously demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, arguing that students had faced significant difficulties due to the handling of examination-related matters.

Kharge said the alliance viewed the situation as a serious concern affecting a large number of young people and stressed that accountability should be ensured in matters involving education and examinations.

Call for All-Party Meeting on Economy

The opposition bloc also urged the central government to convene an all-party meeting to deliberate on what it described as pressing economic concerns facing the country. Leaders highlighted issues such as unemployment, rising prices, challenges faced by farmers, and matters affecting socially disadvantaged communities.

According to the alliance, broader political consultation is necessary to address these concerns effectively. Leaders argued that discussions involving all major political parties could help generate solutions to issues affecting citizens across different sections of society.

Regular Coordination Among Alliance Partners

To strengthen coordination, the INDIA alliance decided to hold meetings at regular intervals. Kharge announced that leaders would meet every two months to review developments and maintain strategic cooperation among member parties.

The next meeting of the alliance is scheduled to take place in Hyderabad in August. The exact date will be announced later after consultations among participating parties.

Broad Participation in the Meeting

A total of 25 political parties took part in the discussions. Leaders from different regions shared their views and contributed to the deliberations on key national issues. The meeting also witnessed participation from several senior opposition figures, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav, and other alliance representatives.

While many leaders attended in person, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Hemant Soren joined the proceedings virtually. According to Kharge, all participants were given an opportunity to express their opinions freely, helping the alliance arrive at a common position on the issues discussed.

The decisions taken during the meeting are expected to shape the opposition’s collective strategy during the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament, where alliance leaders plan to continue coordination and raise the concerns discussed during the gathering.
