Iran Protest: Donald Trump Says US Military Is Examining “Strong Options” on Iran

Iran Protest: US President Donald Trump said he is closely monitoring the Middle East amid deadly anti-regime demonstrations in Iran. According to the president, the US military is thinking about “strong options” for Iran. The president told reporters on Air Force One, “They are starting to, it looks like,” when asked whether Iran is crossing a red line.

Trump said, “It appeared that some people were killed who shouldn’t have been killed.” However, we’re taking it extremely seriously. The military is investigating, and we are considering a number of promising ideas before reaching a decision.

Trump claimed to be getting information on the Iranian situation every hour. The president also said that he received a call on Saturday from Iranian authorities who wanted to engage in negotiations. “They want to negotiate… a meeting is being set up, but we may have to act because of what’s happening, before the meeting,” Trump said to reporters.

Trump said, “I think they’re sick of the United States beating them up.”

“Yes, Iran wants to discuss. A meeting is being arranged, so we could meet with them,” he said. However, given what is going on, we may need to take action before to the meeting. However, Iran contacted and said they wanted to discuss, so a meeting is being scheduled.

According to accounts, a violent anti-government rally resulted in at least 538 deaths and 10,600 arrests. Marchers were demonstrating in favor of Iran’s anti-government protests, which are now in their third week.

Since January 8, there has been little connection with people within the nation due to a government-imposed internet shutdown. The president said that he would talk to Elon Musk about the possibility of using the constellation of satellites run by SpaceX to assist Iranians who have been hampered by the internet outage.
