PoliceTragedy –  A devastating road accident in Bihar’s Begusarai district claimed the lives of four people, including three serving Station House Officers (SHOs) of Bihar Police, during the early hours of Friday. The fatal crash occurred within the jurisdiction of Sahebpur Kamal police station and has left the police community mourning the loss of several experienced officers.

Officers Returning From Official Programme

According to information available so far, the deceased officers were identified as Sajan Kumar, who was serving as SHO of Ratwara police station under the Udakishunganj subdivision, Amarendra Gyanendra, SHO of Arar police station, and Neeraj Kumar, SHO of Belari police station under the Madhepura subdivision. All three officers were posted in Madhepura district.

Officials said the officers had attended an official training programme in Patna and were travelling back to Madhepura when the accident took place.

Collision With Roadside Truck

Initial reports indicate that the vehicle carrying the officers collided with a truck that had been parked along the roadside in the Sahebpur Kamal area. The impact of the crash was reportedly severe, causing extensive damage to the vehicle.

Authorities believe the force of the collision left little opportunity for the occupants to avoid serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle also lost his life in the incident, taking the death toll to four.

Investigation Underway

Police authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact sequence of events that led to the accident. While preliminary findings suggest a collision with the stationary truck, officials are examining several aspects of the incident before reaching any conclusion.

Investigators are reviewing factors such as road conditions, visibility during the early morning hours, the positioning of the truck, and other circumstances that may have contributed to the crash.

Senior Officials Reach Accident Site

Soon after receiving information about the accident, local police personnel and administrative officers reached the scene and began necessary procedures. Senior officials from Madhepura district also travelled to Begusarai to oversee developments and coordinate further action.

The administration is collecting evidence and statements as part of the ongoing inquiry. A detailed report is expected after investigators complete their assessment of the accident site and related circumstances.
