NEET UG 2026 – Bihar Police Warns Against Online Scams Before Re-Exam

NEET UG 2026 – Ahead of the NEET UG 2026 re-examination, authorities in Bihar have appealed to students, parents, and the general public to remain cautious about misleading information and online fraud attempts that may emerge in the days leading up to the test.

Neet ug 2026 scam alert bihar police

The advisory was released on Tuesday by the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police, which functions as the state’s key agency for monitoring and preventing unfair practices in competitive examinations. Officials emphasized that maintaining a transparent and secure examination environment remains a top priority.

Re-Examination Scheduled Across Bihar

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to conduct the NEET UG 2026 written re-examination on June 21 at designated centres throughout Bihar. With thousands of candidates expected to participate, authorities have intensified monitoring efforts to prevent any activities that could disrupt the examination process.

According to the EOU, there is a possibility that certain individuals or organized groups may attempt to create confusion by circulating fabricated information related to the examination. Such activities could affect candidates and undermine confidence in the examination system.

Social Media Platforms Under Watch

Officials noted that misinformation campaigns are often spread through popular digital platforms. Channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, WhatsApp, and X may be used by fraudsters to share false claims, unverified updates, or misleading examination-related content.

The agency cautioned candidates against trusting messages received through unofficial sources. It stressed that spreading or forwarding unverified information can contribute to unnecessary panic and confusion among students preparing for the examination.

Fraudsters May Exploit Candidates

The advisory also highlighted the risk of cybercriminals targeting students and their families with fraudulent promises. Scammers may falsely claim to possess leaked question papers, answer keys, guaranteed examination success, or even future job opportunities in exchange for money.

Authorities warned that such claims are deceptive and designed to exploit candidates during a critical period. Students and guardians have been advised not to engage with individuals offering examination materials or special assistance for financial gain.

Immediate Reporting Encouraged

The EOU urged the public to report any suspicious communication without delay. If a person receives a phone call, email, or social media message offering question papers or answer keys in return for payment, the matter should be immediately brought to the attention of the nearest police station or cybercrime unit.

Officials stated that timely reporting can help law enforcement agencies identify offenders and prevent larger fraud operations from targeting more candidates.

Action Against Circulation of Fake Materials

In cases where alleged question papers or answer keys appear on social media platforms, users have been asked to inform authorities immediately. Sharing details such as the account name, profile information, and relevant URL can assist investigators in verifying authenticity and taking appropriate legal measures.

The agency believes public cooperation is essential to preserving the credibility of the examination process and ensuring that all candidates compete on equal terms.

Public Cooperation Sought

The Economic Offences Unit has also invited citizens to share advance information regarding any planned misconduct, disturbances, or attempts to manipulate examination procedures. Such information can be communicated directly to the unit through its Mobile and WhatsApp number 9031829067 or via email at

Additionally, complaints related to cyber fraud, online scams, and fake calls can be filed through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal or by contacting the national cybercrime helpline at 1930.
