Crimeupdate patna trader blackout shooting

A local businessman was killed after unidentified attackers allegedly opened fire during a blackout in Bihar’s Patna district, police officials confirmed on Thursday. The victim, identified as Pintu Kumar, was known in the area for operating a spice trading business. Authorities said the incident occurred late at night when electricity supply in the locality had reportedly been disrupted.

Police Launch Investigation Into Trader’s Killing

According to officials, police teams rushed to the scene soon after receiving reports of gunfire. Kumar was found critically injured and was declared dead at the spot. His body has since been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the precise cause of death and the number of bullet wounds sustained during the attack.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Raj Kishore Singh stated that investigators are currently examining all possible angles linked to the murder. He added that the details regarding the firing would become clearer once forensic and medical reports are completed.

The sudden killing has raised concern among local residents, especially as the attack reportedly took place under the cover of darkness caused by the blackout. Police have not yet identified the assailants, and no arrests had been announced at the time of reporting.

Forensic Teams Collect Evidence From Scene

Senior officers said forensic experts were deployed to inspect the crime scene and gather material evidence that could help trace those responsible. Investigators are also expected to review local surveillance footage and question nearby residents as part of the ongoing probe.

Officials have maintained that the inquiry remains active and that additional information will be released after preliminary findings are verified. Authorities are trying to establish whether the victim was specifically targeted or if the attack was linked to another criminal motive.

The incident has once again highlighted concerns over law and order in certain areas of the state, where late-night crimes continue to pose challenges for local enforcement agencies.

Separate Police Operation Leads To Arrests In Bihta

In another development from Bihar, police arrested three men accused in multiple murder cases following an encounter in the Bihta area on Wednesday. Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya Kumar Sharma identified the accused as Avdesh Sahu, also known as Videshiya, along with Pappu Rai and Deepak Kumar.

Police officials stated that the suspects had allegedly been planning another serious criminal act when intelligence inputs helped authorities track their movements. Acting on the information, officers launched an operation that led to their detention.

Gunfire Reported During Weapons Recovery Operation

According to police, the situation escalated during a follow-up search conducted to recover hidden firearms allegedly linked to the accused. Officers claimed that two of the suspects opened fire on the police team during the operation, leading security personnel to retaliate.

During the exchange of fire, two accused reportedly suffered bullet injuries to their legs. Authorities also confirmed that two police personnel sustained minor injuries in the incident.

Investigators said weapons were recovered from the suspects, who are also believed to be connected to the Anjali Singh murder case. Police have continued questioning the accused as part of a wider investigation into criminal activities in the region.

Officials stated that further inquiries are underway in both cases, and additional details are expected after forensic reports and interrogations are completed.
