Bihar Politics – Tejashwi Targets NDA After Nishant Kumar’s Education Disclosure

Bihar Politics –  A fresh political exchange has emerged in Bihar after Opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav responded to recent disclosures made by Nishant Kumar, the son of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The issue has drawn attention because leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have often mocked Tejashwi over his educational background in the past.

Tejashwi Reacts to Nishant Kumar’s Affidavit

The debate gained momentum after Nishant Kumar, while filing his nomination papers for the Legislative Council elections, stated in his affidavit that he had not completed his engineering studies at BIT Mesra in Ranchi. Seizing on the development, Tejashwi Yadav said that he had never hidden details about his own academic qualifications from the public.

Taking a sarcastic swipe at the ruling alliance, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader remarked that Bihar’s education minister would now likely ensure Nishant is regarded as an engineer. He further commented that he had complete confidence in the minister’s abilities, suggesting in jest that if others could be elevated academically, Nishant could also be given the title of engineer.

Lalu Prasad’s Birthday Draws Attention to Loyal Supporter

Meanwhile, RJD president Lalu Prasad celebrated his 79th birthday on Thursday, attracting greetings from supporters across Bihar and beyond. Among those drawing public attention was a devoted admirer from Muzaffarpur whose loyalty to the veteran politician has become widely known.

The supporter, Ranjit Rajak, is a 42-year-old resident of the Chhoti Kalyani area. Over the years, he has gained recognition for displaying his admiration for the Lalu family through multiple tattoos on his body. One prominent tattoo features Lalu Prasad on his chest, while several others are dedicated to members of the former chief minister’s family.

A Unique Display of Political Devotion

Rajak’s dedication has earned him a distinctive identity among local residents and political observers. Many people refer to him as the “Hanuman of the Lalu family” because of his unwavering support. His unusual tribute has made him a familiar figure not only in Muzaffarpur but also in various parts of Bihar, where his story frequently attracts public curiosity.

Bihar and Google Explore Technology Partnership

In a separate development that could have long-term implications for the state’s economy, Bihar is looking to strengthen its position in India’s technology sector. The state government and Google India have discussed opportunities for collaboration aimed at expanding the digital ecosystem and creating new opportunities for skilled youth.

The discussions took place during a recent meeting in New Delhi between Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and a delegation led by Google India Vice President Chandu Thota. According to officials, the talks focused on possible cooperation in key sectors including education, healthcare and agriculture.

Plans for a New Technology Hub

During the meeting, the chief minister invited Google to consider establishing a Global Capability Centre in Bihar. The proposal forms part of a broader strategy to attract major technology investments and encourage digital innovation within the state.

Officials believe such initiatives could help diversify India’s technology landscape, which has traditionally been concentrated in western and southern metropolitan centres. By attracting large-scale technology operations, Bihar aims to position itself as an emerging destination for innovation and digital services in eastern India while creating employment opportunities for educated young professionals.
