UP Police Recruitment – The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has initiated legal action against a YouTube channel accused of spreading false information related to the UP Police Constable Recruitment 2025 examination. Officials said the content circulating on the platform contained misleading claims about the recruitment results and selection process, creating confusion among candidates who appeared for the examination.
Complaint Filed After Viral Video
The First Information Report (FIR) was registered at Husainganj Police Station in Lucknow following directions issued by the recruitment board. According to officials, the complaint was submitted on behalf of the board by Inspector Upendra Singh after a video uploaded by the YouTube channel “Mohit Sir Gurukul” gained significant attention online. The video reportedly alleged large-scale irregularities and corruption in the declaration of the constable recruitment results.
Board Rejects Allegations
The recruitment board has categorically denied the claims made in the video, stating that the allegations are completely unfounded and misleading. Officials maintained that the video was capable of creating unnecessary anxiety among candidates and spreading misinformation regarding the recruitment process. The board emphasized that the selection procedure is being conducted according to established rules and that official announcements should be treated as the only authentic source of information.
Recruitment Timeline
As per the recruitment board, the written examination for the UP Police Constable Direct Recruitment 2025 was conducted from June 8 to June 10, 2026. Following the evaluation process, the cut-off list for document verification and the Physical Standard Test (PST) was released on July 31. Candidates shortlisted in the written examination were invited to proceed to the next stage of the recruitment process in accordance with the published schedule.
Legal Provisions Invoked
Police have registered the case under Sections 221 and 292 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, along with Section 66D of the Information Technology Act. These provisions relate to offences involving false or misleading information and certain forms of online deception. Authorities said the investigation will examine the circumstances surrounding the publication of the disputed content and determine whether any legal violations were committed.
Official Result Already Announced
The controversy comes shortly after the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board announced the written examination results for the direct recruitment of Constable (Civil Police) and equivalent posts for the 2025 recruitment cycle. The board reiterated that every stage of the recruitment process is being carried out through prescribed procedures and advised candidates to rely only on notifications issued through official channels.

Officials confirmed that the matter remains under investigation and that further action will depend on the findings of the inquiry. The recruitment board has also urged applicants to avoid believing unverified reports or social media posts related to the examination and selection process. It advised candidates to verify all recruitment-related updates through official communications to prevent confusion and misinformation.
