Avatar: Seven Havens – Paramount+ has confirmed that the next installment in the Avatar universe, Avatar: Seven Havens, will make its streaming debut on October 9, 2026. Along with announcing the premiere date, the platform released the first teaser trailer, giving viewers an early glimpse of the show’s darker, post-cataclysmic world and introducing the setting for the upcoming chapter in the long-running franchise.
First Teaser Reveals a World Changed by Disaster
The newly released teaser presents a dramatically transformed world where survival has become increasingly difficult following a devastating catastrophe. Unlike earlier stories in the franchise, the new series explores a future in which the title of Avatar is viewed with fear rather than hope. The announcement also carries added significance for longtime followers, as October 9 was originally planned as the release date for Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender. That film’s schedule was later moved forward to July 25 after footage reportedly surfaced online ahead of its official launch.
Story Focuses on a New Avatar After Korra
According to the official synopsis, the story follows a young Earthbender named Pavi, who discovers that she has become the next Avatar after Korra. However, she enters a fractured world where people believe the Avatar is responsible for humanity’s downfall instead of its protection. Pursued by both human and spirit adversaries, Pavi joins forces with her long-separated twin sibling in a mission to uncover the truth behind their origins. Their journey eventually leads them toward the Seven Havens, the final surviving strongholds of civilization, which face an uncertain future.
Series Planned Across Two Books
Continuing the storytelling format established by earlier Avatar productions, Avatar: Seven Havens will be presented in two separate “Books.” Each installment will include 13 episodes, bringing the total episode count to 26. This structure follows the narrative style that has become a defining feature of the franchise over the years.
Voice Cast Brings New Characters to Life
The animated series features an extensive voice ensemble led by Saheli Khan as Pavi and Aishu Devan as Nisha. The cast also includes Akshay Khanna as Karthik, Major Curda as Jae, Sakina Jaffrey as Agam, Darren Barnet as Daemin, Dianne Doan as Zi, and Dee Bradley Baker, who voices both Geet and Ruhi. The diverse cast introduces several original characters who will shape the next era of the Avatar universe.
Original Creators Return to Lead the Project
Franchise creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are returning as creators and executive producers through Avatar Studios. They are joined by executive producer Ethan Spaulding, while Sehaj Sethi serves as co-executive producer. The series has been developed through a collaboration between Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios, continuing the creative partnership behind previous entries in the franchise.

Ahead of the television series, Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender is scheduled for a special screening during San Diego Comic-Con on July 24 before arriving on streaming platforms the following day. Instead of the originally planned wide theatrical release, the film will receive a one-week awards qualifying run in theaters located in New York and Los Angeles.
