Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal extended his congratulations to Aryan Gupta of Ludhiana for achieving All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2026. Calling the accomplishment a matter of pride for Punjab, Kejriwal said Aryan’s success would motivate countless students preparing for competitive examinations across the country. He also appreciated every student who cleared the examination and encouraged those who missed success this year to continue working with determination for future attempts.

In a message shared on social media platform X, Kejriwal praised Aryan’s outstanding performance and said the achievement reflected the talent and dedication of young students from Punjab. He also reminded unsuccessful candidates not to lose confidence, expressing hope that sincere effort and persistence would help them perform better in the coming years.
Aryan Gupta Secures Top Rank with Outstanding Score
Aryan Gupta emerged as the national topper in NEET UG 2026 by scoring 715 marks out of 720, earning a percentile of 99.9999. After the results were announced, he described the moment as the reward for two years of consistent preparation and disciplined study. He admitted that the journey involved hard work, pressure, and long hours of study, but said the final outcome made every sacrifice worthwhile.
Preparation Built on Discipline and Teacher Guidance
Sharing his preparation strategy, Aryan said he followed every academic instruction given by his teachers without deviation. According to him, completing homework, daily practice papers, and assignments on time formed the foundation of his success. He also revealed that his elder brother, Aditya, had advised him from the beginning to trust his teachers completely and remain focused throughout the preparation period.
Family Support Played a Key Role
Aryan credited his family for providing continuous motivation during the demanding preparation phase. He described his elder brother as an important source of inspiration and said his parents ensured he always had encouragement at home. He recalled that his father regularly sat with him late into the night after returning from work, creating an environment that helped him stay committed to his studies.
Future Goal Focused on Cancer Treatment
Looking ahead, Aryan said he hopes to study at AIIMS Delhi and build a career as an oncologist. He also offered advice to future NEET aspirants, urging them to remain disciplined, trust their mentors, and work honestly throughout their preparation. According to him, consistent effort and sincerity are more valuable than shortcuts.
Parents Celebrate a Proud Family Achievement
Aryan’s father, Dr. Sachin Gupta, an anaesthetist based in Ludhiana, described the result as one of the happiest moments for the family. He noted that Aryan’s elder brother had secured AIR 54 in the previous year’s examination and is currently studying at Maulana Azad Medical College in Delhi. He said the family’s responsibility was not to teach every subject but to remain present, encourage the children, and support them throughout their academic journey.
Aryan’s mother, Dr. Reenu Gupta, a gynaecologist, also praised her son’s commitment and acknowledged the contribution of his father and elder brother in helping him remain focused. She said the family’s collective encouragement played an important role in achieving this milestone.
NEET UG 2026 Qualification Statistics
According to the National Testing Agency (NTA), around 20 lakh candidates appeared for NEET UG 2026, which was conducted on June 21 at 5,440 examination centres across 551 cities in India and 14 international cities in 13 languages. More than 11.21 lakh candidates qualified for admission to undergraduate medical, dental, AYUSH, and allied health courses. The agency stated that the results were announced on schedule to keep the counselling and admission process on track following the earlier disruption caused by the examination paper leak controversy.
