JewelleryFraud – Employee Held After Alleged Fake Robbery Plot Worth ₹60 Lakh Exposed
JewelleryFraud – A police investigation into the reported theft of jewellery worth more than ₹60 lakh has led to the arrest of two individuals, including an employee of a jewellery company, after authorities concluded that the alleged robbery was staged. Officials said the entire consignment, valued at ₹60.65 lakh, has been recovered following the arrests.

Delivery Theft Claim Raises Doubts
The case came to light when Avinash Kadam, a 26-year-old employee of Goldstar Jewellery Company, informed police that a bag containing jewellery entrusted to him for delivery had been stolen. According to his initial statement, the theft occurred after he was involved in a motorcycle accident and lost consciousness on the road, giving unknown persons an opportunity to take the valuables.
The complaint prompted an immediate investigation due to the high value of the missing items. However, as officers began examining the circumstances surrounding the incident, they reportedly noticed several inconsistencies in the account provided by Kadam.
Medical Findings Trigger Further Inquiry
Investigators became suspicious after reviewing medical reports connected to the alleged accident. While Kadam had claimed that he suffered significant injuries, medical examinations reportedly showed no major physical harm. Police officials also questioned his insistence on remaining hospitalized despite the absence of serious injuries.
These findings encouraged investigators to take a closer look at the sequence of events and gather additional evidence from the location where the accident was said to have occurred. Authorities began verifying every aspect of the complaint to determine whether the reported robbery had actually taken place.
CCTV Footage Provides Key Breakthrough
As part of the probe, police reviewed a large number of CCTV recordings collected from areas near the reported accident site. During the analysis, investigators noticed the repeated presence of a man behaving suspiciously in the vicinity before the alleged incident.
The individual was later identified as 41-year-old Manoj Jogdand. Police subsequently detained him for questioning after establishing a connection between him and Kadam. Investigators believed the footage and other evidence could help clarify what had happened to the missing jewellery.
Alleged Conspiracy Uncovered
According to police, questioning of the two men revealed that the accident and robbery narrative had allegedly been fabricated. Authorities claim Kadam and Jogdand, who are known to each other, had planned the incident in advance with the intention of unlawfully retaining the jewellery that had been assigned for delivery.
Officials said the alleged scheme involved creating a false theft scenario to conceal the valuables and avoid suspicion. Based on information gathered during the interrogation, police were able to recover the entire jewellery consignment valued at ₹60.65 lakh.
Investigation Continues
While the recovery of the jewellery marks a significant development in the case, investigators have not ruled out the possibility of additional involvement. Police are continuing to examine evidence, communication records, and other aspects of the alleged fraud to establish whether more individuals played a role in the conspiracy.
Authorities stated that further legal proceedings will be carried out based on the findings of the ongoing investigation. The case highlights the importance of detailed verification in theft complaints, particularly when high-value assets are involved
