VoterInclusion – Owaisi Calls for Equal Representation in Electoral Verification Drive
VoterInclusion – AIMIM president and Hyderabad Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi has appealed to citizens and party workers to ensure that every eligible voter is included in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, describing it as a matter closely linked to citizenship rights rather than a purely electoral concern.

Appeal for Inclusive Voter Registration
Speaking at a public gathering on Monday, Owaisi stressed that efforts to verify and include voters should benefit everyone, regardless of their political affiliation, religion, caste, or social background. He said the objective should be to ensure that no genuine voter is excluded from the electoral rolls, including those who support rival political parties.
According to Owaisi, democratic competition should take place through elections and public support, not because an individual’s name is missing from voter records. He stated that political opponents should also receive assistance in ensuring their names appear on the voter list so that elections remain fair and representative.
Citizenship Rights at the Centre of the Debate
The AIMIM leader argued that the issue extends beyond voting and directly concerns the rights and recognition of citizens. He said no individual should be subjected to unnecessary hardships due to administrative errors or exclusions from official records.
Owaisi remarked that ensuring inclusion in voter rolls reflects a commitment to democratic values. He maintained that people should not face difficulties because of procedural issues before any legal determination regarding their citizenship status has been made.
Help Desks Established Across Telangana
Addressing party workers and supporters, Owaisi highlighted the assistance being provided by AIMIM through dedicated help centres. He said that during the last 45 days, a large number of residents had approached Darussalam, the party headquarters, seeking guidance related to voter verification and registration matters.
He noted that teams of young volunteers have been helping citizens complete the required procedures. In addition, several helpdesk centres have been established across Hyderabad and different parts of Telangana to make the process more accessible for the public.
Criticism Over Reported Actions in West Bengal
During his address, Owaisi also referred to developments in West Bengal and expressed concern over reports involving people whose names were allegedly left out of official lists. He criticised actions linked to the cancellation of welfare benefits, including ration cards and pensions, affecting a significant number of individuals.
The Hyderabad MP described such measures as unfair and argued that government assistance programs are public entitlements funded by taxpayers. He said authorities should not withdraw benefits from individuals unless their legal status has been determined through the appropriate process.
Call for Democratic Fairness
Owaisi further stated that decisions regarding citizenship should be made by competent legal institutions and tribunals rather than through administrative assumptions. He urged authorities to follow due process and ensure that citizens are not deprived of benefits or rights without proper verification.
Concluding his remarks, the AIMIM chief called for collective efforts to guarantee that every genuine voter is included in the electoral rolls. He expressed confidence that people from all communities would work together to protect democratic participation and ensure equal representation in the electoral process.
