Speaking after the announcement of the results on Monday, Kumar said he was thrilled with the outcome. Top Female Candidate from IIT Delhi Zone
Among female candidates, Arohi Deshpande emerged as the highest-ranked performer. She scored 280 marks out of 360 and secured the 77th position in the Common Rank List (CRL). Her performance placed her among the leading candidates in one of the country’s most competitive entrance examinations.
IIT Delhi Zone Dominates Top Rankings
The IIT Delhi zone recorded a remarkable performance this year, with all three top-ranked candidates belonging to the same zone. Kabir Chhillar secured the second rank with 329 marks, falling short of the top position by just one mark. Jatin Chahar claimed the third rank after scoring 319 marks. Their results highlighted the strong showing of candidates from the region in the national-level examination.
Participation and Qualification Statistics
According to official figures released with the results, a total of 1,87,389 students registered for JEE Advanced 2026. Of these, 1,79,694 candidates appeared for both examination papers conducted on May 17. Following the evaluation process, 56,880 candidates successfully qualified for the next stage. Among the qualified candidates, 10,107 were female students.
The examination remains a key gateway for admission to India’s premier engineering institutions, including the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
IIT Roorkee Director Congratulates Successful Candidates
Prof. Kamal Kishore Pant, Director of IIT Roorkee, congratulated all candidates who cleared the examination. He praised their commitment, perseverance, and academic discipline, describing their achievement as the result of sustained hard work and dedication.
He also encouraged all qualified students to participate in the JoSAA 2026 counselling and seat-allocation process. Candidates have been advised to complete the counselling formalities regardless of their Class XII or equivalent examination scores, as participation remains important for admission opportunities.

While encouraging students to take part in the admission process, Prof. Pant noted that final admission to institutions will depend on meeting all eligibility requirements specified in the official JEE Advanced 2026 Information Brochure. These include percentage-related criteria and other conditions prescribed for admission.

Candidates can check their JEE Advanced 2026 results by logging into the official portal using their Roll Number, Date of Birth, and Registered Mobile Number. The scorecard provides comprehensive information, including the candidate’s qualification status, All India Rank, total marks, subject-wise performance, category rank, and cutoff details.
