EnergyConservation – Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged citizens to adopt responsible consumption habits as global tensions continue to affect energy markets and supply chains across several countries.
Rashtriya Lok Dal leader Malook Nagar has commended the Union government’s preparedness in handling the economic impact of the ongoing conflict in West Asia. Referring to the tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, Nagar stated that many nations have experienced economic strain, but India has managed to remain comparatively stable due to early planning and policy measures taken by the Centre under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Focus on Long-Term Economic Stability
Speaking to ANI, Malook Nagar said the government had anticipated potential disruptions caused by the geopolitical situation and acted in advance to minimise any direct effect on the country. He noted that the Prime Minister’s recent appeal encouraging greater use of electric vehicles and public transport reflects a long-term strategy aimed at protecting both the economy and the environment.
According to Nagar, the government’s emphasis on reducing diesel and petrol consumption is a precautionary measure designed to strengthen India’s resilience against fluctuations in global fuel markets. He also described PM Modi’s approach as mature and future-oriented, adding that such decisions are intended to ensure continued national progress.
Prime Minister Highlights Need to Cut Import Dependence
Addressing a public gathering in Secunderabad on Sunday, Prime Minister Modi stressed the importance of lowering India’s dependence on imported goods, especially edible oil and chemical fertilisers. He encouraged households to reduce edible oil usage, saying that even small lifestyle changes could contribute significantly to the country’s financial stability.
The Prime Minister explained that India spends a large amount of foreign exchange on edible oil imports each year. He said lower consumption would not only support the economy by reducing import bills but would also help improve public health outcomes.
PM Modi urged citizens to consider responsible consumption as part of their contribution toward national development. He said collective efforts by households across the country could strengthen both family well-being and the broader economy.
Push Towards Natural Farming Practices
The Prime Minister also addressed concerns related to agriculture and fertiliser imports. He pointed out that India relies heavily on imported chemical fertilisers, which places additional pressure on foreign currency reserves.
To address this challenge, PM Modi encouraged farmers to gradually reduce chemical fertiliser usage and adopt natural farming methods wherever possible. He said such a shift would help conserve soil quality, reduce environmental damage, and lower import expenses over time.
The Prime Minister added that promoting natural farming would benefit future generations while also supporting sustainable agricultural growth. He described it as an important step toward protecting both farmland and natural resources.
Patriotism Linked With Everyday Responsibility
