PowerOutage – Scheduled Maintenance to Disrupt Electricity Across South and West Delhi
PowerOutage – Residents in several parts of South and West Delhi are likely to experience temporary power interruptions on Saturday as distribution company BSES Rajdhani Power Limited carries out repair work, technical upgrades, and network maintenance across multiple locations.
According to the official schedule, the planned shutdowns are aimed at improving electricity infrastructure and addressing transformer and feeder-related issues. Areas including Vikaspuri, Janakpuri, Hauz Khas, Palam, Sangam Vihar, and Nangloi are expected to witness power cuts lasting between one and four hours depending on the nature of the work being carried out.
Janakpuri and Subhash Nagar to Face Longer Shutdowns
Among the affected localities, Subhash Nagar in the Janakpuri division is expected to witness one of the longest interruptions. Electricity supply in the area is scheduled to remain suspended from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm because of transformer-related repair work.
In nearby Vikaspuri, several residential pockets will also be impacted due to network strengthening projects and civil maintenance linked to transformer systems. Officials stated that the exercise is necessary to improve long-term supply reliability in these regions.
Maintenance Work Planned in Mohan Garden and Hauz Khas
Residents of Mohan Garden will experience two separate shutdown periods during the day. Power supply in Raza Pur Khurd Vikas Nagar is scheduled to remain unavailable from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm while maintenance is conducted on the LT circuit.
Another outage has been planned in Block K-6 of Jaildar Enclave in Hastasal between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm for network improvement work.
In South Delhi’s Hauz Khas area, electricity disruptions are also expected because of issues linked to the Ring Main Unit system. Maintenance activity at the TIFAC Building is likely to affect nearby supply from 11:05 am to 11:50 am. Meanwhile, residents of D Block in Gulmohar Park may face a brief outage from 11:00 am to 11:45 am due to an operational fault in the electricity mechanism.
Vikaspuri, Nangloi and Nearby Areas Included in Upgrade Plans
Electricity supply in parts of Vikaspuri Extension is expected to remain affected from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm as transformer network enhancement work continues in the locality.
Additional civil maintenance linked to transformer systems has also been scheduled in GG2 Block of Vikaspuri. At the same time, power infrastructure upgrades related to LT circuits will be carried out in Shiv Vihar Hastasal and Nangli Vihar, impacting nearby consumers for a limited duration.
Supply Interruptions Expected in Sangam Vihar and Khanpur
In the Khanpur and Sangam Vihar belt, power supply will remain temporarily suspended in Tigri Colony and Tigri Sangam Vihar between 11:00 am and 12:30 pm due to LT circuit servicing work.
Technical teams are also expected to carry out repairs associated with RMU-related faults on the 11KV feeder line in Durga Vihar and Deoli Sangam Vihar. Authorities stated that the work is part of preventive maintenance measures intended to reduce future breakdowns.
Palam and Sagarpur Areas Also on Outage List
Several neighbourhoods under the Palam division are likely to witness electricity disruptions because of transformer load-balancing operations and fault rectification work.
Power supply may remain affected in Pink Apartments and Pocket A-9 of Nasirpur during the maintenance period. Apart from these locations, outages are also scheduled in Kailashpuri East, Main Palam, Sagarpur, and nearby Sabzi Mandi areas.
Officials have advised residents to prepare in advance and ensure backup arrangements for essential services such as water pumps, charging devices, and inverters to minimise inconvenience during the shutdown period.
