Politics – Major IPS Reshuffle and Key BJP Appointments Draw Attention
Politics – A large-scale reshuffle involving 62 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers brought significant changes to the state police administration late Saturday night. The move, considered one of the most extensive reorganisations in recent years, led to the appointment of new police chiefs in 21 districts while several senior officials were reassigned to the state police headquarters.

Senior Officers Receive New Responsibilities
Among the major changes, 1994-batch IPS officer Raja Babu Singh, who had been serving as Additional Director General (Training), was transferred to the position of ADG-Rail. Singh had remained in public discussions in recent years because of several initiatives introduced during police training sessions. Some of his suggestions to trainee constables, including encouraging the reading of religious texts such as the Ramcharitmanas, had earlier sparked political debate and criticism from opposition groups.
Officials familiar with the reshuffle described the transfers as part of a long-pending administrative exercise aimed at improving operational efficiency within the police department. Several district-level police heads were shifted to strategic assignments at the Police Headquarters (PHQ), indicating a broader attempt to streamline command structures across the state.
BJP Leaders React to West Bengal Election Victory
Meanwhile, political celebrations within the Bharatiya Janata Party intensified after the party’s strong performance in the West Bengal assembly elections. Senior BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh cabinet minister Kailash Vijayvargiya became emotional while speaking about the party’s success and the efforts of workers associated with the campaign.
Vijayvargiya, who had earlier served as the BJP’s national general secretary and was closely involved with the party’s West Bengal election management in 2021, said the victory was the result of years of dedication and sacrifice by party workers and supporters linked to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
During his remarks, he alleged that several BJP workers had faced violence and legal pressure during the previous political environment in the state. He also claimed that cases had been registered against BJP and RSS members under the earlier Trinamool Congress administration. According to Vijayvargiya, judicial intervention played an important role in protecting party workers from what he described as politically motivated cases.
His emotional response quickly attracted attention within political circles, with BJP supporters sharing clips and reactions across social media platforms.
KP Yadav Gets Major Government Responsibility
In another important political development, former Guna Member of Parliament Dr KP Yadav was appointed chairman of the Madhya Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation. The decision comes nearly two years after he was denied a BJP ticket for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Yadav first gained national attention during the 2019 parliamentary elections when he defeated senior Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia from the Guna constituency, long considered a stronghold of the Scindia family. His victory was widely viewed as one of the biggest surprises of that election.
Despite his earlier electoral success, Yadav did not receive a party nomination in the following Lok Sabha polls. However, political observers had continued to speculate that the party leadership could assign him an important organisational or administrative role in the future.
The latest appointment is being seen as part of the BJP’s effort to accommodate experienced leaders within government institutions. Sources within the party also recalled that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had earlier assured Yadav that he would be entrusted with a significant responsibility at an appropriate time.
The developments related to the IPS reshuffle and political appointments are expected to influence both administrative functioning and internal political dynamics in the coming months.
