Accident – Family Celebration Journey Turns Fatal After Truck Hits Pickup in Rajgarh

Accident –  A festive family trip in Madhya Pradesh ended in tragedy after a serious road accident near Pachor claimed two lives and left several others injured.

A devastating road crash in Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh has cast a shadow over what was meant to be a joyful family occasion. A pickup vehicle carrying members of a Yadav family collided with a fast-moving truck, resulting in the deaths of two women and injuries to more than 20 passengers.

Family was travelling for wedding ritual

According to initial information, the group belonged to Mavasa village in Khujner tehsil. They were on their way to Barkheda village to attend a Mamera ceremony, a customary ritual held before weddings in many communities. The journey, filled with excitement and anticipation, took a tragic turn in the early hours of Tuesday.

Impact left vehicle severely damaged

The collision occurred near Pachor and was reportedly intense. The pickup vehicle suffered extensive damage, leaving several passengers trapped inside. Locals and emergency responders rushed to the spot soon after the incident was reported, beginning rescue efforts to free those injured.

Emergency response and hospital treatment

Police and local authorities quickly transported all the injured to the civil hospital in Pachor. Despite prompt medical attention, two women—identified as Avanti Bai and Bhagwati Bai—could not survive their injuries. Their deaths have deeply affected the family and the local community.

Doctors at the hospital confirmed that while most of the injured are stable, two individuals remain in critical condition. Due to the seriousness of their injuries, one patient has been shifted to Shajapur district hospital, while another has been referred to a medical facility in Bhopal for advanced care.

Ongoing treatment for injured passengers

Nineteen other injured passengers are currently undergoing treatment at Pachor hospital. Medical teams are closely monitoring their recovery and providing necessary care. Hospital officials have stated that most patients are responding to treatment, though some may require extended observation.

Truck driver under custody

The driver of the truck involved in the accident also sustained injuries during the crash. He is receiving treatment at the same hospital and remains under police custody. Authorities have begun questioning him as part of the investigation.

Police begin investigation into cause

Police officials have registered a case and launched an inquiry to determine the exact cause of the accident. Early indications suggest that high speed or negligence may have contributed to the collision, but officials have stated that a detailed investigation is underway before drawing conclusions.

Bodies sent for post-mortem

The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination as per procedure. After completion of formalities, they will be handed over to their family members in Mavasa village for final rites.

Celebration turns into mourning

What began as a journey filled with happiness and preparations for a wedding ceremony has ended in grief for the Yadav family. The sudden loss has not only disrupted the planned celebrations but also left the entire village in shock.

Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution on highways, especially during early hours, to prevent such incidents. The tragedy serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and responsible driving.
