Concert – Delhi Traffic Advisory Issued Ahead of Karan Aujla Show
Concert – The Delhi Police has rolled out a comprehensive traffic advisory ahead of Punjabi singer Karan Aujla’s much-anticipated performance at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, scheduled for Saturday evening. The concert marks the opening leg of his P-Pop Culture India Tour 2026 in the national capital and is expected to draw a crowd of nearly 50,000 attendees.

Authorities said the event will run from 4 pm to 10 pm, prompting special traffic arrangements to manage vehicle movement in and around the stadium precinct. Officials have urged residents and commuters to take note of the advisory to prevent congestion and delays.
Entry Gates and Crowd Management Plan
According to the police advisory, general ticket holders will be able to access the venue through Gate Nos. 2, 6, 8, 13, 14 and 21. Gate No. 13 has been designated exclusively for VIP guests. Entry for the performer, his crew and event organisers will be routed through Gate No. 6.
To ensure safety and preparedness, Gate Nos. 1 and 10 will remain reserved for emergency services and will not be open to the public. Officials said the arrangement is aimed at maintaining smooth entry and exit while keeping emergency response routes clear.
Security personnel and traffic marshals will be deployed at key junctions to guide visitors and regulate vehicular flow during peak hours before and after the show.
Designated Parking Facilities Announced
The advisory outlines specific parking areas for concert-goers. VIP attendees will have access to parking inside the stadium complex, primarily in the West Block section.
For the general public, parking has been arranged at multiple nearby locations, including the Sewa Nagar Bus Depot, Sunheri Pulla Bus Depot, CGO Complex parking area, SCOPE Complex parking and parking zones near JLN Stadium Gates 7 to 9. Event organisers have secured these facilities to accommodate the anticipated volume of vehicles and to reduce roadside parking in surrounding neighbourhoods.
Police have advised attendees to follow signage and instructions from on-ground staff to avoid confusion and unnecessary delays.
Traffic Restrictions in Place on Key Roads
In view of the expected turnout, movement of heavy vehicles will be restricted between the JLN Stadium red light and BP Marg from 4 pm to 11 pm on Saturday. Authorities said this measure is intended to prevent bottlenecks during the high-footfall event.
Commuters have also been advised to avoid BP Marg, Lodhi Road, areas surrounding the stadium and access roads leading to the designated parking sites during the same time window. Diversions may be implemented depending on real-time traffic conditions.
Officials recommended the use of public transport where possible to ease pressure on local roads. Delhi Metro services, which connect to the stadium area, are expected to see increased footfall.
Emergency Services to Have Unhindered Access
Despite traffic curbs and diversions, emergency vehicles will be granted unrestricted passage. The advisory confirms that police vehicles, ambulances, fire brigade units and other emergency service providers will be allowed to move freely in restricted zones if required.
However, emergency vehicle operators have been advised to avoid BP Marg and Lodhi Road during peak concert hours unless absolutely necessary, as these stretches are likely to witness heavy congestion.
Authorities Urge Public Cooperation
With one of the season’s largest live music events set to take place in Delhi, officials have emphasised the importance of public cooperation. Residents living near the stadium have been asked to plan their travel in advance, while concert attendees are encouraged to arrive early and adhere to instructions issued by authorities.
The traffic advisory forms part of broader arrangements to ensure safety and convenience for thousands of fans attending the opening show of Karan Aujla’s India tour. Police said they will monitor the situation closely and make additional adjustments if required to maintain order and smooth movement across the area.
