This significant step follows Washington’s “large-scale strike against Venezuela” on Saturday, which resulted in the detention and expulsion of Nicolas Maduro, the ousted ruler, and his wife, Cilia Flores.
Hours after Maduro was “captured,” Trump stated at a press conference on Saturday (local time) that US oil companies would “spend billions of dollars” to repair Venezuela’s damaged oil infrastructure and “start making money” for the South American country.
