United States: Trump claims that 30–50 million barrels of “high-quality, sanctioned oil” would be turned over to the by interim Venezuelan authorities
United States: President Donald Trump declared on Tuesday that between 30 and 50 million barrels of sanctioned oil would be turned over to the US by Venezuela’s interim authorities. He stated that although the oil will be sold at market value, Trump will control the money to make sure it is used for the benefit of both the US and Venezuelan people.

The US president also said in his post on Truth Social that he has instructed Energy Secretary Chris Wright to carry out the plan right now and that storage ships would transport the oil straight to the US unloading ports.I am happy to report that the United States of America will receive between 30 and 50 million barrels of high-quality, sanctioned oil from the interim authorities in Venezuela. In my capacity as President of the United States of America, I will oversee the sale of this oil at its market price and make sure the proceeds are used for the good of both the American people and the people of Venezuela! I have requested that Energy Secretary Chris Wright carry out this strategy right now. Storage ships will transport it straight to American unloading ports. I appreciate you taking the time to consider this.
This significant step follows Washington’s “large-scale strike against Venezuela” on Saturday, which resulted in the detention and expulsion of Nicolas Maduro, the ousted ruler, and his wife, Cilia Flores.
Hours after Maduro was “captured,” Trump stated at a press conference on Saturday (local time) that US oil companies would “spend billions of dollars” to repair Venezuela’s damaged oil infrastructure and “start making money” for the South American country.
Trump said that the US was in the “oil selling” business and would provide it to other nations who were interested in purchasing it at a news conference in Florida. We work in the oil industry. They (other nations) will purchase it from us. Due to their poor infrastructure, Venezuela was unable to produce much, hence we will likely be selling oil in much higher quantities. As a result, we will be exporting a lot of oil to other nations, many of which already use it. However, I believe there will be a lot more.
According to Trump, the oil industry in Venezuela has been a “total bust” and “badly broken oil infrastructure” would be restored with billions of dollars from American oil corporations. He said that Venezuela’s own oil output has been constrained by its inadequate infrastructure.
In a coordinated effort including US law enforcement and intelligence services, Maduro and Flores were apprehended in Caracas and flown out of the nation.
According to Trump, Maduro and his spouse will go on trial after being charged with “drug trafficking and narco-terrorism conspiracies” in the Southern District of New York.
