The prime minister said that India’s expanding position in the international commercial launch industry was further supported by the heavy-lift LVM3 rocket’s performance.

The 6.5-ton Bluebird Block 2 satellite of US-based AST Space Mobile is launched into a 520-kilometer circular orbit by ISRO’s LVM3 rocket.

“A noteworthy advancement in India’s space industry. In an X post, Prime Minister Modi said, “The successful LVM3-M6 launch marks a proud milestone in India’s space journey, placing the heaviest satellite ever launched from Indian soil, the spacecraft of the USA, BlueBird Block-2, into its intended orbit.”

“It strengthens India’s heavy-lift launch capability and reinforces our growing role in the global commercial launch market,” stated the prime minister.

PM Modi praised diligent space scientists and engineers and said that the LVM3 launch was also indicative of efforts towards creating Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

“India keeps rising further and higher in space! Our space program is becoming more sophisticated and significant thanks to the efforts of India’s youngsters,” the prime minister said.

“With LVM3 demonstrating reliable heavy-lift performance, we are strengthening the foundations for future missions such as Gaganyaan, expanding commercial launch services and deepening global partnerships,” he said.

“This increased capability and boost to self-reliance are wonderful for the coming generations,” the prime minister said.
