UP: Starting on January 1, Vehicle Pollution Check Fees Will Increase, Diesel Vehicles Are Exempt | Details
UP: In Uttar Pradesh, vehicle pollution check costs will increase by Rs 5 for non-diesel cars starting on January 1. The testing rates for diesel vehicles, which were raised the previous year, won’t alter.
In order to avoid paying more, authorities have recommended car owners whose pollution tests are scheduled to finish them before the price increase. All RTOs and ARTOs will shortly get an official order pertaining to the revised prices.
Vehicles that violate pollution regulations face harsh penalties; those without a valid pollution certificate face fines of Rs 10,000. Every six months, all vehicles—including buses, lorries, two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers—powered by diesel, gasoline, CNG, or LPG must have their pollution levels checked.
Online pollution testing facilities will only provide certifications on January 1st upon payment of the updated costs. According to Dr. RK Vishwakarma, Additional Transport Commissioner (Revenue), Piyush Srivastava, Senior Technical Officer of the National Informatics Center, has been notified of the updated tariffs and will update them on the PUCC site.
There are now about 225 pollution testing facilities in Uttar Pradesh. Rates were raised by Rs 10 for diesel cars and Rs 5 for all vehicles last year.
Revised Rates of Pollution Checks (effective January 1):
-Petrol for two-wheelers: Rs 70 (formerly Rs 65)
-Fuel, LPG, and CNG for three-wheelers: Rs 90 (formerly Rs 85)
-CNG, LPG, and petrol four-wheelers: Rs 90 (Rs 85 earlier)
-Diesel cars of all kinds: Rs 120 (unchanged)
Since the government continues to promote the use of electric cars to lower vehicular pollution, they will continue to be exempt from pollution tests.
