Jharkhand: two of the five ladies were crushed to death by wild elephants

Jharkhand: Over the course of the previous day, five people—two of whom were women—were killed by wild elephants in Jharkhand, authorities said on Wednesday.

According to them, a 36-year-old man was slain at Jidu village in Ranchi’s Angara on Tuesday night, while three more perished in the Sirka forest region in the Ramgarh district.

“A few of the dead have not yet been recognized. Nitish Kumar, Divisional Forest Officer, Ramgarh, said that two quick reaction teams (QRTs) and forest guards are monitoring the movement of elephant herds in the region.

Amit Kumar Rajwar, 32, was crushed to death in Ramgarh on Tuesday afternoon after approaching a group of eight wild elephants to record a movie and snap photos, according to Kumar.

He said that up to 42 jumbos, separated into herds, are wandering the woodlands along the boundary between the districts of Ramgarh and Bokaro.

According to Gautam Kumar Rajwar, the Angara police station’s officer-in-charge, two wounded people, including a lady, are receiving medical care, while Sanicharwa Munda passed away during treatment.
