Kerala: A man admits to murdering his girlfriend, 19, while intoxicated

Kerala: According to authorities, Chithrapriya, a 19-year-old aviation student who vanished from Mundangamattam in Malayattoor, was brutally murdered after her lover Alan confessed to the crime.

The Kalady Police have arrested the accused after he confessed to murdering the girl by hitting her on the head with a stone while intoxicated.

The police claim that the murder occurred after a furious confrontation sparked by suspicion, which became deadly because the accused was drunk.

After being questioned for a long time, Alan admitted that the crime was committed during a drunken argument early on Sunday morning.

The confession, according to investigators, followed the discovery of important CCTV video that showed Chithrapriya and Alan riding a bike at approximately 1.53 in the morning, with another cyclist after them.

Chithrapriya, a Bengaluru-based first-year student pursuing a degree in aviation, had come home for a holiday.

After leaving her house on Saturday night, claiming to be heading to a neighboring store, she was reported missing.

Early on Sunday morning, her relatives filed a complaint when she did not return.

Her half decomposed corpse was discovered on a vacant plot near Kurappilly hill, about one km from her home, four days later on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.

Locals and her mother’s coworkers at a catering business noted a strong, unpleasant stench coming from an abandoned rubber plantation along Sebiur Road, near Malayattoor Manappattu Chira. This led to the discovery of the corpse.

The murder idea was reinforced when police found a blood-stained stone next to the corpse.

The back of her skull had a deep cut that was consistent with blunt-force trauma.

Senior police officers, a dog squad, and fingerprint specialists were sent to the area for forensic analysis. After being questioned, Alan first informed the police that he had dropped Chithrapriya off on his bike.

But once the corpse was found, he was arrested again and questioned for a long time, during which he broke down and admitted to the murder.

According to police, a thorough investigation is being conducted to piece together the events and ascertain if any other people were involved.

The cause of death has been confirmed by the post-mortem examination, and the final report is still pending.
