RamTemple – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday reaffirmed his government’s position on the long-standing Babri structure issue, declaring that there would be no reconstruction of the disputed mosque site. Address at Religious Event in Barabanki

The chief minister was speaking at the Shri Ram Janaki Temple during the 10th Shri Hanuman Virat Mahayagya and Shri Ramarcha Pujan ceremony. Addressing devotees, he said his government stands by its commitments and acts in accordance with its public assurances. Referring to the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, he noted that the pledge to build a grand temple for Ram Lalla had been fulfilled.

He emphasized that his administration believes in aligning words with action, stating that the government does not make declarations it cannot carry through. His remarks were received with applause from attendees at the religious event.

Firm Stand on Babri Structure

Reiterating his position, Yogi Adityanath said there was no possibility of rebuilding the Babri structure, adding that such an outcome would never take place. He remarked that those holding expectations of its reconstruction were mistaken.

The statement comes years after the Supreme Court’s verdict cleared the way for the Ram Temple’s construction in Ayodhya, a development that significantly reshaped the political and social discourse surrounding the issue. The temple project has since been presented by the state leadership as a symbol of cultural restoration and national pride.

Message on Rule of Law

During his address, the chief minister also spoke about adherence to the Constitution and legal framework of the country. He urged citizens to respect the rule of law and cautioned against any actions that would violate established legal norms.

According to him, individuals who follow the law stand to benefit from stability and order, whereas those who disregard it must face legal consequences. He stressed that progress and social harmony depend on respecting institutional processes rather than acting on emotion or assumption.

Criticism of Political Opponents

Without naming specific individuals or parties, Yogi Adityanath criticized what he described as opportunistic behavior in politics. He alleged that certain groups invoke religious sentiments during challenging times but fail to maintain consistency in their positions.

He also referred to past instances of unrest linked to the Ram Temple movement, stating that there should be no space in public life for those who obstructed religious activities or resorted to violence. His comments reflected the broader political narrative his party has maintained regarding law enforcement and governance.

Linking Temple Movement to Cultural Identity

The chief minister connected the Ram Temple movement to what he called India’s civilizational values and Sanatan traditions. He recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Ayodhya in November, when a saffron flag was ceremonially hoisted at the temple site.

According to Yogi Adityanath, the flag represents continuity of heritage and cultural pride. He said such symbols would continue to serve as reminders of India’s historical and spiritual legacy.

Law and Order Claims Since 2017

Turning to governance, the chief minister compared the current law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh with conditions prior to 2017. He claimed that earlier years were marked by frequent communal tensions, curfews, and a sense of insecurity among residents.

He asserted that traders, farmers, women, and young people now experience a greater sense of safety. The administration, he said, has worked to strengthen policing and ensure swift action against criminal activity. According to him, the state has transitioned from instability to improved public security under his leadership.

Yogi Adityanath concluded by reiterating that maintaining peace and development requires collective discipline and respect for the law. His remarks once again brought the Ayodhya issue into the political spotlight, even as the Ram Temple project continues to be highlighted as a milestone in recent Indian history.
