Politics – FIR Registered After Cleric’s Alleged Remarks on Yogi Adityanath’s Mother
Politics – The Uttar Pradesh Police have filed a First Information Report against cleric Maulana Abdullah Salim following allegations that he made offensive comments about the mother of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during a religious gathering. The complaint was lodged after the remarks reportedly triggered strong reactions among local political workers.

Complaint Filed by BJP District President
The FIR was registered based on a complaint submitted by Ravi Kumar Mishra, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s district president in Balrampur. According to Mishra, the cleric’s statements during the gathering were disrespectful and deeply hurt the sentiments of party members and supporters.
He stated that the remarks led to widespread anger among BJP workers in the region and urged authorities to take strict legal action. Mishra also emphasized that such comments, particularly in public forums, could disturb social harmony and create unnecessary tension.
Allegations of Attempt to Incite Communities
Along with the alleged personal remarks, the complainant also accused the cleric of attempting to provoke minority communities regarding the state’s anti-cow slaughter legislation. Mishra claimed that the statements made during the gathering could encourage hostility toward existing laws enforced by the state government.
Authorities have not yet publicly commented on the full details of the alleged speech. However, the complaint suggests that the remarks were made in a manner that could potentially inflame communal sentiments.
Legal Action Initiated Under BNSS Provisions
Following the complaint, local police initiated legal proceedings and registered the case under Section 173 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023. Officials confirmed that an FIR has been recorded and the matter is currently under investigation.
Police authorities have not announced any arrests at this stage, and further details about the case are expected as the inquiry progresses. Law enforcement agencies are likely to review recordings or witness statements related to the gathering before determining the next steps.
Chief Minister Attends Healthcare Facility Inauguration
In a separate development earlier this week, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the inauguration of the KDSG Super-Speciality Hospital in Greater Noida on March 5. During the event, he congratulated the institution for its contribution toward improving healthcare facilities in the region.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of strengthening the healthcare system and acknowledged the role of private institutions in expanding access to quality medical services. He also expressed appreciation for the initiative taken by the hospital’s management to improve healthcare infrastructure.
Focus on Expansion of Healthcare Services
While speaking at the inauguration, Yogi Adityanath emphasized that India’s healthcare sector has witnessed considerable development over the past decade. He credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for prioritizing improvements in medical infrastructure and expanding health services nationwide.
The Chief Minister noted that healthcare facilities have grown rapidly, creating better opportunities for patients to access advanced treatment across the country. According to him, such initiatives reflect the broader national effort to modernize public services and improve quality of life.
Growth in AIIMS Institutions Across India
During his remarks, Adityanath also referred to the expansion of All India Institute of Medical Sciences facilities in the country. He stated that before 2014, only six AIIMS institutions were functioning in India. In recent years, the number has increased significantly as part of efforts to strengthen tertiary healthcare services.
He said that nearly 23 AIIMS institutions are now operational across the country, providing specialized medical treatment and advanced healthcare services to millions of people.
Authorities are expected to release more information regarding the police investigation into the complaint against the cleric in the coming days.
