Admissions – Delhi University Releases ECA Trial Schedule for Undergraduate Admissions 2026
Admissions – Delhi University has released the tentative timetable for physical trials under the Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) quota for undergraduate admissions, providing candidates with important dates, venues and guidelines ahead of the selection process. The announcement comes as admissions continue through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), with trials for most categories scheduled to begin from July 16.

Individual Trial Slots to Be Published After Application Corrections
The university stated that candidates will receive their allotted date and time slot through a detailed schedule that will be published on the official website by July 14, once the application correction window closes. Applicants have been advised to regularly monitor the university portal, as no individual email or SMS notifications will be sent regarding the trial schedule.
Officials also urged students to rely only on updates published on the university website to avoid missing important information related to the admission process.
Special Advisory for Students Travelling from Outside Delhi
Recognising that many applicants will be travelling from different states, Delhi University has issued a separate advisory for outstation candidates. Instead of waiting for their individual trial timings, students have been asked to book travel tickets covering any date within the officially announced trial period for their chosen ECA category.
The university has also recommended arranging accommodation close to the designated trial venue to avoid last-minute travel issues. In cases where a candidate’s confirmed travel plan conflicts with the allotted trial date, a request for rescheduling may be submitted in writing. Such requests will be considered based on availability within the notified trial period.
Category-Wise Trial Dates Announced
According to the tentative schedule, physical assessments for dance, debate, vocal music and theatre will begin on July 16 and are expected to continue for nearly a week, excluding Sunday. Yoga trials are scheduled to start on July 17 and are likely to conclude within two days.
Quiz evaluations and Fine Arts trials will commence on July 20. While the quiz competition is planned for a single day, Fine Arts assessments are expected to continue for three to four days.
From July 21 onwards, the university will conduct trials for Creative Writing, Instrumental Music, Digital Media and Divinity categories.
Colleges Assigned as Trial Venues
Delhi University has allocated separate colleges to manage different ECA disciplines. Bharati College will host dance trials, while debate competitions will take place at Ramjas College.
Miranda House has been selected for theatre trials, Mata Sundri College for Women for vocal music, and Sri Aurobindo College (Day) for instrumental music. Hansraj College will conduct Creative Writing trials, Maharaja Agrasen College will oversee Digital Media, Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College has been assigned Fine Arts, Rajdhani College will host Divinity trials, and PGDAV (Evening) College will conduct Yoga assessments. Quiz trials will be organised at Zakir Hussain Delhi College (Evening).
NCC and NSS Admissions to Follow a Different Process
The university clarified that applicants seeking admission under the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and National Service Scheme (NSS) quotas will not be required to appear for physical trials. Their evaluation will be carried out through the prescribed admission process without stage-based practical assessments.
Delhi University further said that ECA evaluation marks are expected to be uploaded on the admission portal around July 25 or July 26. After the publication of marks, students will be given a grievance window of approximately two to three days to raise objections or seek corrections, if necessary.
