WhatsApp Clash – A festive gathering in Maharashtra’s Dhule district turned into a tragic scene after a disagreement over a WhatsApp message escalated into a violent clash, leaving three people dead and several others injured.

Argument During Pre-Wedding Rituals Turns Violent

The incident took place in Pimpalner village, located in Sakri tehsil of Dhule district, where families of the bride and groom had assembled for pre-wedding ceremonies. According to local authorities, what began as a verbal disagreement related to a WhatsApp message quickly intensified into a heated exchange between members of both families.

Eyewitness accounts suggest that tensions had been building during the event before the situation spiraled out of control. Within minutes, the argument reportedly turned physical, disrupting the celebrations and creating panic among those present.

Sharp Weapons Used in Sudden Attack

Police officials said that the confrontation escalated sharply when some individuals allegedly used sharp weapons during the clash. The attack resulted in severe injuries to several people at the venue.

Three men later succumbed to their injuries. They were identified as Devendra Dnyaneshwar Pawar, 35, Suresh Gosavi, 55, and Sahil Suresh Gosavi, 22. Four other individuals sustained serious injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital. Medical authorities have described their condition as critical but stable.

The wedding venue, which had been decorated for celebrations, quickly turned into a scene of chaos as guests attempted to flee and others tried to assist the injured.

Police Rush to Scene, Reinforce Security

After receiving information about the clash, local police teams reached the village promptly. Officers worked to disperse the crowd and bring the situation under control. Additional security personnel were deployed in and around Pimpalner to prevent further disturbances and to ensure law and order.

Authorities confirmed that the situation is now under control and that normalcy has been restored in the village. However, police presence remains heightened as a precautionary measure.

Three Arrested While Attempting to Flee

Investigators have arrested three suspects in connection with the incident. The accused have been identified as Kantilal Gosavi, 42, Jaswant Gosavi, 36, and their driver. Police said the trio attempted to escape after the violence but were intercepted near the Gujarat–Navapur border.

During the operation, officers recovered a knife believed to have been used in the assault. All three accused are reportedly residents of Songad in Gujarat. They are currently in police custody, and further investigation is underway to determine the sequence of events and identify any additional individuals involved.

Law enforcement officials are examining the circumstances that led to the fatal confrontation. Statements from witnesses are being recorded, and forensic teams are reviewing evidence collected from the site.

Authorities have urged residents to remain calm and refrain from spreading unverified information. The tragic incident has cast a shadow over the village, with community members expressing shock that a disagreement during a wedding function could result in such devastating consequences.
