Weather Update: J-K, Uttarakhand Prepares For Snowfall | IMD Forecast; Delhi, UP Is Under A Cold Wave And Dense Fog Alert

Weather Update:  Across the nation, a severe cold wave has increased, bringing coldness to most places and causing the mercury to drop quickly. More than half of India is experiencing severe weather, and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued advisories for thick fog and cold waves in a number of regions.

In Jammu and Kashmir, the weather is predicted by the Meteorological Department to be dry till December 17 and then overcast on December 18. Around December 20 and 21, residents could anticipate some mild rain and snowfall. In the meanwhile, Tamil Nadu and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are under a yellow warning from the IMD due to mild to heavy rainfall.

Dense fog and cold waves In Bihar, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh
In isolated regions of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, the meteorological service has predicted severe to extremely dense fog in the early hours of December 16 and 17. Many areas of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Himachal Pradesh are also expected to see dense fog today.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange notice for a cold wave in portions of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and southern Uttar Pradesh due to the unfavorable meteorological conditions.

Tamil Nadu is under a rain alert.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light rain in Tamil Nadu, while North India is experiencing a severe cold wave. According to Jagran.com, Tamil Nadu and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are under a yellow rain warning.

Snowfall in Uttarakhand and Jammu & Kashmir
Jammu & Kashmir’s weather is predicted by the IMD to be dry till December 17, with the possibility of hazy sky on December 17 and 18. The first period of light rain and snowfall of the season is predicted to arrive on December 20 and 21 with the arrival of Chillai Kalan.

In addition, snow and rain are predicted for portions of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh in the coming days.

The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow advisory for thick fog in the morning on Tuesday due to a cold wave that has strengthened its hold on the nation’s capital. The Meteorological Department predicts that tomorrow will provide respite, with winds of 10 to 15 km/h. According to the prediction, there will be little fog on December 17.
