Alliance Discussions Expected to Conclude Soon

Speaking ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled public rally in Tiruchirappalli, Goyal said discussions regarding seat allocation were currently taking place internally among alliance partners. According to him, the final arrangement will be announced publicly once consensus is reached.

He emphasised that such negotiations are part of normal coalition politics and are handled privately before being presented to the media. Goyal expressed confidence that the agreement would be completed in a cordial and cooperative manner.

NDA Confident of Electoral Prospects

The senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader also voiced optimism about the alliance’s prospects in the upcoming state elections. He said the NDA hopes to form the next government in Tamil Nadu under the leadership of AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami.

According to Goyal, the alliance is witnessing growing support in the state and believes voters are seeking an alternative to the current administration. He added that the NDA’s campaign would focus on governance and development, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the alliance at the national level and Palaniswami representing the coalition in the state.

Criticism of the DMK Government

During his remarks, Goyal criticised the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government led by Chief Minister MK Stalin. He alleged that the current administration has been involved in divisive politics and argued that many voters in the state are dissatisfied with its performance.

The Union Minister also accused the state government of administrative shortcomings and claimed that the public is seeking better governance and accountability. He further alleged that internal disagreements exist within the DMK leadership regarding the political role of Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin.

Goyal said the NDA campaign would highlight issues such as corruption, law and order concerns, and governance challenges in the state. He argued that the alliance aims to bring what he described as a return to more stable governance in Tamil Nadu.

Modi Rally and Development Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Tiruchirappalli on Wednesday, where he will launch and inaugurate several development projects with a combined value of approximately ₹5,650 crore.

Among the major initiatives, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited’s City Gas Distribution Network in The Nilgiris and Erode districts. The project involves an investment of more than ₹3,680 crore and aims to expand the supply of piped natural gas in the region.

Officials said the project will provide PNG connections to more than 8.8 lakh households, supply gas to over 200 commercial establishments, and set up more than 200 compressed natural gas stations to support cleaner fuel usage.

Expansion of Lubricant Manufacturing Capacity

In addition to the gas distribution project, the Prime Minister will dedicate a new lube blending plant developed by Indian Oil Corporation at Manali in Chennai. The facility, with a production capacity of 672 thousand metric tonnes per year, has been built at an investment of around ₹1,490 crore.

The plant is expected to strengthen India’s lubricant manufacturing capabilities and support growing demand in the automotive and industrial sectors.

Elections Later This Year

Tamil Nadu is scheduled to hold Assembly elections later this year. The contest is expected to see the AIADMK and BJP-led NDA alliance attempting to challenge the incumbent DMK-led coalition currently governing the state.

Political observers note that alliances, campaign narratives, and voter sentiment in the coming months will play a crucial role in shaping the outcome of the election.
