Suicide – Indian Air Force Officer Found Dead at Raipur Residence
Suicide – An Indian Air Force officer was found dead at his residence in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, in an incident that police suspect to be a case of suicide. The officer, identified as Wing Commander Vipul Yadav, was discovered inside his room on Wednesday morning. Authorities have begun an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.

Officer Was Involved in Anti-Naxal Operational Duties
According to police officials, Wing Commander Vipul Yadav, aged 39, was associated with assignments linked to anti-Naxal operations. He had been stationed in Raipur and was living with his family in Vidhayak Colony, an area that falls under the jurisdiction of the Telibandha police station.
Police said the officer’s domestic worker arrived at the residence in the morning and found him unresponsive inside his room. After noticing the situation, the staff member alerted others in the house and informed authorities. Law enforcement personnel soon reached the location and began preliminary inquiries.
Children Were Present in the House at the Time
Officials confirmed that the officer’s two children, a son and a daughter, were at home when the incident occurred. Both were sleeping in another room of the house and were unaware of what had happened until later.
The officer’s wife was not present at the residence at the time. She had previously served in the Indian Air Force but later moved into the information technology sector and currently works in Bengaluru.
Police sources indicated that the couple had married in 2014 after a relationship that led to a love marriage. The family had been living separately for professional reasons in recent times due to work commitments.
Police Examine Possible Personal Issues
Investigators said that early information gathered during questioning suggested that the officer and his spouse had experienced occasional disagreements. Authorities believe personal matters could have contributed to emotional distress, although they emphasized that the investigation is still ongoing.
Police officials stated that no suicide note was found at the scene during the initial examination of the room. As a result, investigators are carefully reviewing available evidence and speaking with family members and acquaintances to understand the situation that may have led to the incident.
Inquiry Underway to Establish Exact Circumstances
The body was sent for post-mortem examination as part of standard legal procedure. Police have registered the case and are continuing their inquiry to determine the exact sequence of events.
Authorities also plan to gather statements from colleagues and others who were in contact with the officer in recent days. Officials said the investigation will focus on identifying any factors that may have influenced his mental state before the incident.
Law enforcement officers have urged the public to avoid speculation while the investigation proceeds. They noted that all findings will be based on verified evidence collected during the inquiry.
Wing Commander Vipul Yadav’s death has drawn attention within official circles because of his service role and responsibilities linked to security operations. Further updates are expected once the police complete the ongoing investigation and receive additional reports related to the case.
