SecurityAlert – Several major locations across Mumbai were placed on alert on Thursday after authorities received emails threatening attacks on important public and financial institutions. The messages referred to potential bomb and missile strikes targeting prominent establishments including the Bombay Stock Exchange, the Bombay High Court, metro rail services, and several banking facilities.

Police and security agencies responded immediately after learning about the threatening communication. As a precautionary measure, teams were dispatched to each of the sites mentioned in the emails to conduct detailed inspections. Officials confirmed that bomb disposal experts and security personnel were mobilized to ensure the safety of the premises and surrounding areas.

Security Agencies Launch Immediate Inspections

Soon after the threats were reported, local police units coordinated with specialized teams to begin systematic searches. The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad was deployed at key sites, including the Bombay Stock Exchange and the Bombay High Court, both of which are among the city’s most significant institutions.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Praveen Munde, the threatening emails were received early Thursday morning by several important institutions. These included the Bombay Stock Exchange, the Bombay High Court, and the Maharashtra state legislative complex at Vidhan Bhavan.

These sites play a central role in the functioning of the city’s financial, judicial, and administrative systems. Because of their importance, authorities treated the warnings with urgency and activated security protocols immediately.

Officials also informed that metro services and certain banking facilities mentioned in the emails were placed under close monitoring, though there were no disruptions to public operations.

Security Measures Strengthened Across the City

In response to the threat alert, additional security personnel were deployed at sensitive locations across Mumbai. Entry checks were intensified, and coordination between local police stations and security agencies was strengthened throughout the day.
