Republic Day: The official results for the Republic Day Parade 2026 awards have been released, highlighting exceptional performances across marching contingents and tableaux presented by the armed services, security forces, states, union territories, and central government ministries. The annual evaluation recognises creativity, discipline, and the ability to reflect national themes through coordinated visual and cultural presentations during the parade.

Top Honour Among the Armed Services

In the category reserved for the three Services, the Indian Navy emerged as the Best Marching Contingent. The selection acknowledged the Navy’s precise drill movements, uniform presentation, and overall coordination along the parade route. Its performance was noted for maintaining traditional military discipline while reflecting modern operational readiness.

Recognition for Police and Auxiliary Forces

Within the Central Armed Police Forces and auxiliary forces category, the Delhi Police secured first place. Judges highlighted the contingent’s synchronisation, turnout, and ceremonial execution, which collectively set it apart from other participating forces. The recognition underscores the role of civil police forces in national ceremonial events alongside paramilitary units.

State and Union Territory Tableaux Winners

Maharashtra claimed the top position among States and Union Territories for its tableau themed “Ganeshotsav: A Symbol of Aatmanirbharta.” The display was commended for effectively blending cultural heritage with the broader narrative of self-reliance. Jammu and Kashmir earned second place for its tableau showcasing the region’s handicrafts and folk dances, presenting a vibrant portrayal of local traditions. Kerala secured third place with a tableau highlighting the Water Metro initiative and the achievement of 100 per cent digital literacy, framed under the theme of an Aatmanirbhar Kerala contributing to an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

Central Ministries’ Tableau Awards

Among Central Ministries and Departments, the Ministry of Culture received the award for the best tableau for its presentation titled “Vande Mataram – The Soul Cry of a Nation.” The tableau traced the emotional and historical significance of the national song, using visual storytelling to connect past and present. Special prizes were also awarded, including one to the Central Public Works Department for its presentation marking 150 years of the “Vande Mataram” commemoration. Another special recognition went to a dance group for its performance titled “Vande Mataram: The Eternal Resonance of India,” which complemented the broader cultural theme.

Popular Choice Results from Online Voting

In addition to jury-based awards, the Popular Choice category results were announced based on an online poll conducted through the MyGov portal. This segment reflects public opinion and engagement, offering citizens an opportunity to vote for their preferred contingents and tableaux.

Public-Favoured Marching Contingents

In the Popular Choice category for the three Services, the Assam Regiment was voted the Best Marching Contingent. Its selection by the public highlighted widespread appreciation for its marching style and ceremonial presence. Among the Central Armed Police Forces and auxiliary units, the Central Reserve Police Force emerged as the top public choice, reflecting strong visibility and recognition among viewers.

Popular Tableaux Across States and Ministries

For tableaux selected through public voting, Gujarat ranked first with its theme “Mantra of Swadeshi – Self-Reliance – Freedom: Vande Mataram.” Uttar Pradesh followed in second place for its depiction of the culture of Bundelkhand, while Rajasthan secured third position with “Golden Touch of the Desert: Bikaner Gold Art (Usta Art),” which showcased traditional craftsmanship.

In the Central Ministries and Departments segment of the Popular Choice category, the Department of School Education and Literacy received the award for its tableau on the National Education Policy 2020. The presentation focused on reforms aimed at strengthening school education as part of the broader vision of a developed India.
