According to officials, those detained include regional office-bearers identified as Mahtab Chauhan, Imran Ansari, and Raji Siddiqui. Police teams carried out late-night operations to apprehend them after reviewing the content of the video linked to the event held on March 23 at a farmhouse in Hajipur village.
The gathering, organised as part of post-Eid celebrations, came under scrutiny after portions of speeches delivered at the event began circulating online. Authorities said the remarks raised concerns about their potential impact on public order.
Speech Content Raises Concerns
In the footage under investigation, a senior party functionary can be heard making remarks that, according to police, could be interpreted as provocative. Officials believe such statements may contribute to tensions between communities if left unchecked.
Law enforcement agencies reviewed the video before initiating legal action. They stated that the content appeared to go beyond acceptable political expression and could influence sensitive social dynamics in the region.
Case Registered Against Multiple Individuals
Assistant Superintendent of Police Antriksh Jain confirmed that a formal case has been filed at Lohiyanagar police station. The complaint names six individuals, including the speaker seen in the video, along with several unidentified persons.
Police have invoked relevant legal provisions related to promoting enmity between communities and disturbing public peace. Investigators are currently working to identify and locate others who may have been involved in organising or participating in the event.
Ongoing Efforts to Track Remaining Accused
Authorities said efforts are underway to arrest the remaining individuals named in the case. Teams have been deployed to gather additional evidence and verify the authenticity of the video as part of the investigation process.
