Governance –  Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a significant political milestone on Wednesday after completing 4,399 consecutive days in office, becoming the longest-serving elected Prime Minister in India’s history. The achievement prompted appreciation from several political leaders, cabinet colleagues, and public figures, who described the period as an important chapter in the country’s development journey.

Minister Praises Development Achievements

Speaking to journalists, West Bengal Cabinet Minister Dilip Ghosh commended the Prime Minister’s leadership and highlighted what he described as a remarkable record of development during the past 12 years. According to Ghosh, the tenure has been distinguished not merely by its duration but by the scale of infrastructure growth, policy initiatives, and governance reforms undertaken during the period.

He stated that the administration led by Narendra Modi has emerged as an example of development-oriented governance and added that many citizens have expressed satisfaction with the government’s performance over the years.

Union Cabinet Adopts Resolution

The Union Cabinet also acknowledged the occasion by passing a resolution congratulating the Prime Minister on the historic achievement. During the meeting, cabinet members recognized the significance of the milestone and offered a standing ovation in his honor.

With the completion of 4,399 uninterrupted days in office, Narendra Modi surpassed the previous record of 4,398 consecutive days held by India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. The development places Modi at the top of the list of elected Prime Ministers in terms of continuous service.

Reflecting on the occasion, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of public service and responsible governance. In a message shared on social media platform X, he described service to citizens as the true measure of effective administration.

He also shared a Sanskrit verse that highlighted values such as humility, commitment, and dedication to public welfare. The message underscored the belief that leaders who remain devoted to the well-being of people earn lasting public confidence and respect.

Congratulations From Political Leaders

The milestone attracted congratulatory messages from leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), international dignitaries, and personalities from various sectors. Many acknowledged the significance of the achievement and reflected on the political journey that led to the record.

Former President Ram Nath Kovind described the last 12 years as a transformative period in India’s post-independence history. He praised several initiatives undertaken during the tenure and noted that the government had worked to strengthen national confidence and global standing.

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also extended his congratulations, attributing the achievement to the trust and support received from millions of citizens across the country. He said the milestone reflects the strong connection between the Prime Minister and the electorate.

Chouhan further remarked that the 4,399-day journey represents an important phase in India’s efforts toward becoming a stronger, more prosperous, self-reliant, and developed nation. According to him, the period will be remembered as a notable chapter in the country’s continuing progress and nation-building efforts.
