ElectionViolence – Clashes and Disruptions Mark Early Voting in Bengal
ElectionViolence – Reports of unrest surfaced from several parts of West Bengal during the opening hours of voting in the second phase of the Assembly elections on Wednesday, raising concerns over the smooth conduct of the democratic process.

Incidents Reported Across Multiple Districts
According to police officials, disturbances were recorded in areas such as Howrah, Chapra, Shantipur, Nimtala, and Bhangar. These incidents ranged from clashes between party workers to allegations of voter obstruction and vandalism, creating tension in several polling zones.
In Howrah’s Bally locality, a technical fault in an electronic voting machine reportedly triggered an argument that quickly escalated into a confrontation. Security personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force intervened and detained two individuals to bring the situation under control.
Allegations of Assault in Chapra

He alleged that supporters of the opposing party prevented the agent from performing his duties and physically assaulted him, resulting in a head injury.
