Elections – Manik Saha Calls for BJP Mandate in TTAADC Polls
Chief Minister Manik Saha has appealed to voters to support the Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council, saying the outcome will shape the future of peace and development in the state.

Addressing a gathering ahead of the TTAADC polls, Saha said the council plays a crucial role in determining the direction of growth in tribal-dominated areas. He urged people to ensure a decisive mandate in favour of the BJP, arguing that stability and progress depend on it.
Emphasis on Service and Organisation
The Chief Minister reiterated that the BJP’s guiding principle is rooted in public service. Referring to the party’s philosophy, he said its organisational strength stems from its commitment to serving people. According to him, governance under the BJP is driven by the objective of reaching citizens at every level.
Saha told supporters that if the BJP forms the administration in the TTAADC, development initiatives in tribal areas would gather greater momentum. He maintained that only his party has a clear roadmap to address long-standing challenges faced by indigenous communities.
Appeal for Peace in Tribal Areas
During the meeting, Saha directly engaged with attendees, asking whether they wanted peace in their regions. The crowd responded affirmatively. When he followed up by asking which political force could guarantee that peace, many voiced support for the BJP.
The Chief Minister said maintaining harmony in the state remains a top priority for his government. He described peace as the foundation upon which economic growth and social progress can be built, particularly in the tribal belts governed by the autonomous council.
Comparing Past and Present Administrations
Saha also referred to earlier administrations, particularly during the Left Front era, claiming that development in the ADC had not met expectations at the time. He said people have seen the contrast between previous regimes and the current government’s approach.
According to him, the BJP administration is focused on delivering measurable improvements in infrastructure, welfare schemes, and public services. He expressed confidence that if the party is voted into power in the council, residents would witness significant changes in the coming years.
National Leadership and Regional Focus
Highlighting the role of the central government, Saha mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s repeated emphasis on development-driven politics. He said the BJP’s priority remains ensuring that government schemes reach the last beneficiary in society.
The Chief Minister noted that dedicated institutional mechanisms have been created over the years to support the Northeast. He referred to initiatives aimed at strengthening administrative focus on the region, stating that these measures were designed to accelerate development in states like Tripura.
Saha added that tribal welfare has received renewed attention under the current dispensation. He said the government’s approach is structured around inclusive growth, ensuring that indigenous communities benefit from welfare programmes, infrastructure projects, and livelihood opportunities.
Allegations of Misinformation
The Chief Minister also accused opposition parties of spreading misleading information to influence voters. He claimed that certain political groups attempt to create confusion among the public for electoral gain.
Without naming specific parties, Saha alleged that some leaders enter politics for personal benefit rather than public service. In contrast, he said, the BJP remains committed to transparent governance and accountability.
He concluded by urging party workers and supporters to intensify outreach efforts in tribal areas ahead of the elections. According to him, a strong mandate for the BJP in the TTAADC polls would not only ensure administrative stability but also pave the way for sustained development in the region.
As campaigning gathers pace, the upcoming council elections are expected to play a significant role in shaping the political landscape of Tripura’s tribal areas.
