Government and Community Partnerships Drive the Initiative

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the project is being carried out with the involvement of district administrations, the Education Department, Corporate Social Responsibility organisations, social groups, market associations and local residents. According to the government, this combined effort is helping schools receive quicker upgrades while encouraging greater public participation in education.

The administration said Mission Kayakalp is not limited to cosmetic improvements. The work includes repairing damaged infrastructure, improving drinking water access, renovating classrooms and laboratories, and developing facilities for students with special needs. Officials said the objective is to create school spaces that support learning, health and overall student well-being.

North Delhi Schools Receive New Facilities

Several schools in North Delhi have already seen major improvements under the programme. A sensory park for children with special needs at a government school on Shankaracharya Marg has been renovated at a cost of Rs 16.20 lakh. The upgraded area is expected to provide a more supportive environment for students who require specialised learning and recreational spaces.

The school has also received an RO water plant and new water coolers to improve access to safe drinking water. In another development, the physics laboratory at a government school in Roop Nagar has been modernised. The upgraded laboratory is intended to give students better access to practical science learning.

Mehrauli Campus Renovation Completed

In South Delhi, renovation work worth Rs 48.73 lakh has been completed at Ramanujan Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya in Mehrauli. The school has received infrastructure improvements as part of the wider effort to strengthen facilities in government-run educational institutions.

The government has not released a detailed breakdown of each component of the work, but officials said the upgrades are designed to improve the day-to-day experience of students and teachers. The project is also expected to support a more organised and welcoming campus environment.

West Delhi Projects Continue at Multiple Schools

Infrastructure work is continuing at government schools in Mohan Garden and Janakpuri in West Delhi. These projects are part of the next phase of Mission Kayakalp, with local authorities working alongside education officials to identify priority requirements at each campus.

The Delhi government said that school-specific planning is being used to ensure that resources are directed towards urgent needs. This may include classroom repairs, sanitation improvements, water facilities and other essential campus services.

Repairs and Green Initiatives in North-East Delhi

Government schools in Gokalpur and Shahdara in North-East Delhi have received renovated toilets, repaired boundary walls and water coolers. Plantation drives have also been conducted at some campuses, while library furniture has been added to improve reading spaces for students.

Officials said these improvements are meant to address both basic infrastructure gaps and the need for more student-friendly facilities. The inclusion of green spaces and library upgrades reflects the broader focus on creating more comfortable and engaging school campuses.

Outer North Delhi School Gets Space Lab

At Sawda Ghevra in Outer North Delhi, a government school has undergone repair and repainting work. A covered shed has also been constructed, and a space lab has been developed as part of the upgrade.

The government said Mission Kayakalp will continue across Delhi as authorities assess the requirements of more schools. The initiative is expected to rely on continued cooperation between government departments, local communities and partner organisations to improve public education infrastructure.
